Her campaign has brought one positvie aspect to the 2008 Presidential Race - the almost complete absence of “news” stories and media scrutiny of candidates’ wives.
Every other presidential race has been rife with stories about whether so-and-so’s wife will make the right kind of First Lady. Is she a good mom? Is she well-groomed? Is she too much or not enough of a “traditional” helpmeet? Did we get lots of picture of her visiting pre-schools? Oh My God - look at her hair!
Heh. Someone starts this now, they’ve got to compare the wives to Bill, and that’s a real problem, any way you cut it.
It’s only a small relief, but I’ll take any that I can get during an election year.
Oh, it’s only February. I expect them to start with that business soon enough. They’re just not used to having anything newsworthy going on this late in the primary process.
Very true. It’s a long election race. There’s tons of time.
In my opinion, the race needs to be a lot more like a sprint and less of a trial of marathons.
The use of “President” as a courtesy title, while distressingly common, is incorrect. A former president is properly addressed by his most senior former title other than “President.” Should Hillary win the office, they would properly be introduced as “President and Governor Clinton.”
How are President and G.H.W. Bush introduced when they are in the same place? Has to have happened. Is Senior officially Vice-President Bush. Ambassador Bush?
Perhaps Hillary winning will at least force us to come to terms with the shocking improprity of saying “President Carter.”
Elizabeth Kucinich didn’t get nearly enough coverage, if you ask me. Nor did she give us nearly enough UN-coverage. And Dennis wanted to share the love by starting a Cabinet department? Hell, start at home. Share the wealth, dude.
