Schiavo autopsy released

I retract that statement. I just did a search and the information says they moved together to Florida. I was certain it was a case where the Schindler’s moved after the Schiavo’s. Apparently I was wrong.

You weren’t necessarily wrong – a search of my own shows several different timelines, some suggesting the Schindlers moved first, some saying the Schiavos did, some stating that they all moved together.

No biggie.

Thanks!

My hope: the Schiavo’s try and launch a case against MS, and an astute DA charges them with perjury for the statements they made while under oath in the settlement case. The Schiavos then backpedal to avoid conviction, and admit that MS actually was a loving husband who was in no way to blame for his wife’s collapse.

Anyone with me?

At least Jeb Bush, that tireless defender of justice, is demanding an investigation into the charges of abuse against Mr. Schiavo. It’s like that show, Cold Case, only stupider.

Daniel

I’m trying to imagine this…

it would be nice, but not likely. we’re dealing with hardheaded americans here, they never backpedal. besides, i think they must now know that they were wrong the whole time and the sensible american thing to do would be to continue their slanderous lies and stay as far away from the courtroom. you’d be more likely to hear them on that show where dick cheney puts his hand up the guys ass and makes him talk than to see them in a courtroom where they might be proven wrong with pesky little facts… what was that show called again? sean hannity i think. ripping good laugh.

How about “Cold Case,” but with better hair?

umm i got distracted by this and meant to type “as possible.” after the word courtroom. if you read it i think you’ll understand.

In my profoundly non-professional opinion, it sounds like they’ve got something similar to Munchausen-by-proxy syndrome. At this point, I think they feeding off the attention and the pity generated by their daughter’s condition, and have done everything in their power to keep her alive, and thereby further the attention they’ve received. Now that she’s dead, they’re probably going to keep after Michael for the same reason.

Yeah… all Americans are like that.

We’re all JUST LIKE Sean Hannity. When we’re not dressing up as Ann Coulter.

Asshole.

Man look at this asshole…

Gov. Bush wants probe of Schiavo collapse

What a meddling asshole.

Fuck you Jeb Bush

Miller --I think you’re on to something with the Munchausen’s.

Sick sick sick.

i AM an american. sorry for the misunderstanding.

A medical question or two:

I’ll admit to being curious about the delay between her collapse and his 911 call. Was he doing CPR and didn’t dare stop? (I assume so because her body kept running so long–there’s no way anybody but Herbert West or Dr Frankenstein could’ve restarted a heart stopped for an hour.) Running around panicking? Shopping for a new girlfriend?

And what good could the EMTs have done? Could they have gotten there soon enough, assuming an immediate call, to save her brain? When someone’s heart has stopped because of an electrolyte imbalance how hard is it to restart it?

But these were questions the DA should have, and I assume did, ask in 1990. They aren’t for Jeb Grissom to ask now.

in the article on CNN already linked before -just after the autopsy results were made public, seconds later the Schindler mouthpiece talked about the ‘delay’, MS’s attorney said “there was no delay, testimony in the trial said she collapsed, he ran and dialed 911”.

Thanks. I noticed that on the front page right after I posted. :smack:

Actually, that link had one mouthpiece saying one thing and the other saying something different. What is the actual chain of events? I’m having a devil of a time tracking it down so if anybody has a link I’d appreciate it.

that link had Schindler’s mouthpiece saying 70 minutes had gone by according to the testimony. according to the CNN story today w/the Jeb fucking BUsh letter, in court testimony Schiavo says she collapsed at 5, call was logged in at 5:40, that years later in a TV interview, he stated she’d collapsed at 4:30.

But. In any event, the issue was that her heart stopped and her brain was deprived of oxygen. It certainly wasn’t deprived for 40 minutes or 70 minutes. And keep in mind that the Schindlers testified in court that Schiavo was a loving husband. The abuse allegations only came after the court case was won. Period.

at that point, the Schindlers started claiming that he’d been abusive, assaultive to Terri. Had they believed this at the time of her collapse, why would they have not immediately contacted the police to launch an investigation then? The only answer to that, that I can see, is that “at that time, they didn’t believe he was an abusive husband, did not at all believe that he had anything to do with her collapse”.

what changed after the court case was won? there was money involved. By that time, Michael had been tending carefully to his wife for quite some time. But now, the Schindlers were claiming that he’d been so abusive to her that he caused her collapse. again, what possible explanation for their change?

Michael claims that after the settlement, the Schindlers demanded half the money and he refused, hence the claims of abuse.

all I can figure is that they did **not ** raise the claim that he was abusive and responsible for her collapse at the time of the collapse.

  1. they either did not have reason to believe he was abusive, responsible for her collapse at that time
    or
  2. THey had reason to believe he was abusinve and responsible for her collapse at that time.

(I reject the ‘they weren’t sure’ since if there was any suspicion, why would you allow that person to remain in charge of your daughter’s care, leave her alone w/him etc?)

If #1 is true, the only time they started saying she was abused was after there was $$ involved. then why make these false claims if not to get the $$ (which has been used for her care through the years).

IF #2 is true, they conspired with Michael, lied to the courts for the $$.

I can’t think of any rational explanation for their change in claims - other than $$.

I can’t think that loving parents who wished the best for their daughter would have reason to believe she’d been abused and put into that state by her husband, not tell the police so it could be investigated, stand by him for years, have him live in their home, testify on his behalf etc.
