Scholarships

I figure you guys are always a good resource to turn to…
Situation follows:
Graduated highschool a year early (start at UT austin in Jan.)
Outstand (if I may say so) academic record (high gpa, SAT score, class rank)
Looking for academic (as opposed to talent, minority, or service) based scholarships
The problem is that I am not actually a highschool senior (if you get right down to it, I never was) and certain high dollar scholarships (coca-cola, for example) aren’t available to me because of that.
I’m pretty much average and ineffectual in every way except for my grades, test scores, etc.
If anyone knows certain scholarships that would fit me, I’d appreciate a push in that directions. I am not only looking for high dollar awards; I’ll nickel and dime it if it is necessary.

End notes:
I am paranoid about not being able to fund my ambitious educational plans.
I have utilized all the standard resources (fastweb, college board, my useless hs counselors)
I’ll give you more information if you want.

Admittedly, I haven’t used it myself but I plan to buy it for my teenage brothers when the time comes.

Good plan. This is only anecdotal evidence but I heard of a young woman that spent the summer applying for scholarships - she applied for 1,000 and was turned down for 970 of them. The other 30 were enough collectively to cover her costs.

Good Luck.

You might also talk to the financial aid office at UT. When I do my annual FAFSA, my university’s financial aid office takes that information and uses it to award appropriate scholarships. So, if I’m eligible for the Mona C. Schnozenbut Memorial Scholarship, they’ll do the paperwork in my behalf and make the award.

There are deadlines, though, so be aware of that.
