School's back- time to bend over for the Big Orange Screw.

I hate UT (Tennessee that is). I’m counting down the days of my last semester there.

I show up to my class the meets Mondays from 3.30-6.30. What’s the first thing I’m greeted with? Apparently the prof has a conflict with the time. She’s on the faculty senate or something like that which meets once a month on Mondays starting at 3.30. The class meeting has to be changed to a different day. So we try to figure out a new day… Wednesdays. That would be fine except we have to start this Wednesday. Um, big problem there. I work. I have to in order to pay for the constantly increasing tuition which probably paid for Shumaker’s $4000 grill.

Now I have to choose between work and school. Granted the prof isn’t going to be holding this one absence against me, I’m still missing 3 hours of a 400 level class at the beginning of the semester. This could potentially throw me off for the entire term. I can’t screw work over. They’re understaffed as is and it’s not their fault that UT can’t get its shit together. I can’t drop the class since I need the hours to graduate and there are no other classes available.

I keep trying to tell myself this is the last semester, but something keeps telling me that Big Orange Screw is gonna get me when graduation comes around this December.

Sounds painful.

Big Orange Screw? I don’t believe it exists.

Good luck. Really. I’m lucky enough to be in a master’s program that will let me do independed studies or whatever to get the credit I need - and I’m on all electives at this point, so I still believe that I’ll avoid it.

Watch me scream come January though.
