Sciavo parents are selling supporters names to direct-marketers.

Classy move, isn’t it.

People donate money to you to help save your daughters life and you sell them out for a couple of hundred bucks to spam merchants, sheesh.

Aww…what could they do that could possibly make them any more True Republicans? Ride Elephants?

-Joe

There is a term for people like them - white trash.

The sensitive term is “People of Trailer”

This was on the news somewhere yesterday. If your donation is large enough, you get a video of Terri.

A video?

Of what?

Maybe a video of Terri in bed dressed as Martha Washington on the 4th of July, or donning a pumkin outfit for Halloween.
Or maybe dressed up like one of Santa’s little elves, and singing christmas carols.

Aaaaaaa dreeeeeeeeing uuuuuuuuuuuuuffff aaaaaaaaaaah waaaaaaaaaaaaay chraaaaaaasmaaaaaaaaaasssssss…

Quiz: which Presidential candidate first paid for names and used them in a direct mail fund-raising campaign? And with what political party was he affiliated? Answer.

Quiz: PBS’s publicly financed flagship station in Boston exchanged their mailing list names and addresses of donors with what private political party? Answer.

Quiz: Which politcal party benefitted from San Francisco’s public TV KQED’s mailing list, given without authorization? Answer.

Quiz: which Arizona state political party is using e-mail addresses, acquired from a direct mail and database warehousing firm without the e-mail owner’s consent, to send messages supportive of their candidates and positions? Answer.

How’d you do, genius?

I work in the direct mail business (don’t throw things – my company doesn’t compile the lists, and I’m the IT geek who makes sure you don’t get the same thing twice), so I’ve been aware of this for a few days. The good news is, the list broker that has the list of their supporters has decided not to sell it. Here’s a link to an article with more information. I won’t say more, because I lost any respect I had for the Schindlers some time ago.

CJ

Right. So Democrats are the true capitalists?

Sorry, sweetheart, still not going to pay attention to your crap. I’m just posting this so you know I haven’t added you to my ignore list. Because that would be rude.

-Joe

Speaking as someone who resides in one of those places, I can tell you that the correct term, is, in fact, “Dwellers of the Modular Home.” Stereotypes, the language of hate.

Well, at least you still call me “sweetheart.” That’s something.

No, you numbskull. (Er… you darling numbskull?)

The lesson is not that Democrats are the true capitalists. The lesson is that both Democrats and Republicans act in skeevy fashion in this arena; hence, your singling out Republicans in your post above was inapposite.

Babycakes.

Well, what are they, then? Communists?

Aw, it’s like an abusive relationship that I just can’t get away from.

I’m sure it’ll make it all better if I ask for cites that these actions were performed at the direct order of the head of the Democratic Party. Scanned documents bearing his signature will be fine. Notary optional.

-Joe

Well, as a person who voted for Kerry in the last election, I thought Bricker’s little list was a pretty good smack-down. Assholes come in all sorts of political persuasions.

Oh what, and Terry’s parents are doing this at the direct order of the GOP?

There just isn’t a pair of rolleyes big enough for this post.

From link:

So the list broker helps the Schiavo’s out, and ends up holding the bag? That’s not fair. I hope he recovers his expenses.

Applying empathy to the situation under discussion, I see two people who believe they are saving their daughter, and I presume if successful will have a massive load of medical bills to foot. People getting some more spam or junk email is something I wouldn’t care too much about, if I were in their situation. This is well covered by the large assload of slack I give people who are losing or have lost a loved one, even if they are somewhat deluded.

Oh, so there will no longer be invective on your part about Republicans unless you provide signed orders from the head of the GOP?

Good to know. I’m actually kind of impressed by how high you’ve set your bar. I’m interested to see how long you can match that level of expectation.

The list broker did the right thing. I think I now have to think of list brokers in general with a bit more sympathy and respect.

I think my term of white trash, is much more accurate and appropriate.
