Science Channel - Vintage Technology Broadcasts

So I recently stumbled upon a 1960s “news series” with Walter Cronkite called “The Twentieth Century” which aired Science Channel a while back. This series was similar to 20/20 in format but was geared towards “The Future”.

Some of the future topics they covered were:

Computers and how they could someday be used in the home!

The Kitchen of the future, with Jetson style appliances and moving cabinets, a computer in the center that looked like a washing machine and had recipes on punch cards and an automated vacuum cleaner (Roomba!) :smack:

Space flight, tourism and a 1984 Mars colonization!

I was completely entranced by this retro but very serious look at the future.

Unfortunately I did not record the series and cannot find it anywhere. Now I am on a quest to find this series on the net, dvd, vhs whatever along with any other similar classic/vintage shows that talk about future technologies.

Can anyone name some other vintage broadcasts that covered this future tech/space/culture subject matter?

If asked, Twentieth Century would be the show that comes to mind. I recall a number of individual pieces shown from time to time during the early part of the space program, but nothing presented as a series.

The 20th Century was a history show, hosted by Walter.

After all the significant world history that had newsreel footage was done it was changed to:

The 21st Century was the show you are referring to.

Prior to having newsreel footage the history was acted out in You Are There which started on radio and moved to tv, also hosted by Walter for the tv version.
