Can someone here recommend some science fiction that features quantum computers? Thanks.
Might be tough. I read too much science fiction, but I wil be damned if the operational basis of the computers in the stories have ever made an impression on me. That is almost like remembering if the vehicles were electric or deisel powered - background detail but not a plot point.
Does the Snowflake in the Planetary comics count?
Read one recently where a quantum computer featured heavily, though the main characters aren’t aware of what it is for a while. Actually, the fact that it features one would probably be considered a spoiler so I’m going to reverse-spoil the book, just to be safe.
Breach, by Patrick Lee. The big Macguffin in the story is a quantum computer, but it doesn’t reveal itself as such until literally the last chapter.
Robert J Sawyer’s Neanderthal Parallax trilogy features them quite heavily.
Wasn’t that a plot point in Timeline ?
First (and actually only) example that occurred to me. Quite well done, too.
