It means something other than what you think it does. Taking it literally is a lot like taking “pro-life” literally - you would naturally assume that pro-life person would be aggressively opposed to executions (including any deity that arranged for somebody to be executed on a cross), but you’d be mistaken.
Vaguely interestingly, the term originally did mean what it sounds like it means, but it was hijacked by misogynistic human shitpiles in order to give their hate group a label more reputable than any accurate term would be. The result, of course, is that the term no longer is reputable, at least not to anybody who has the faintest idea what’s going on.
