Usually spoken by a guy who spends half his life in yesdear mode.
These people are just plain scary. It is not hard to visualize them in brown shirts throwing rocks through store front windows. How can a mind be so locked into an absolute dedication to what is simply so much bullshit? I think these guys were prepared to mug this guy and take his camera. He would have been lucky to survive and I doubt he would had he not been seen by so many talking to these three.
I was so hoping Mark followed that up with “Just to see him die.”
That was fucking scary.
Where did that take place? Next to their world headquarters (in East Hollywood) they somehow got the City to rename one block of N. New Hampshire Ave. to “L.Ron Hubbard Way.” (I used to live two blocks up the street.) How can they do that if they’re a “church”?

Jeez, how do you get police officers to deny people access to public streets at the whim of the event permit holder?
Really, they don’t have the right to do that, do they?
I agree, Anaamika, it was downright spooky.
Watching that video makes me want to join a swarm of “little gnats” and really show them what a protest is.
Scary people and they provided all the scariness.
What was the deal with the Cop in the beginning, does Hubbelology have pet police now?
Have you ever read any of his books? Most are 100% crap. Battlefield Earth was the only one that was only 50% crap.
They reminded my wife of Zombies. I just pictured them chasing us, “Braaains, Braaains, we just waaant to waaash your Braaains”.
I have a general dislike for organize religion and a general dislike for organize crime. When you combine the two together, I believe a full court press of FBI and IRS agents should descend upon them.
Jim

Just kidding.
Whyis Merriam Webster so intent upon attackng Scientology? What crimes is it trying to keep from being uncovered?
“Hubbard didn’t make up the word inturbulate. It was already in the English language.”
“…at least, once we put it on Wikpedia”
Does anyone know the specifics of the crimes Mark refers to. A woman taken from a hospital? Cockroach bites on the body in an autopsy? A couple of other things? I was aware of Mrs. Hubbard going to prison. Something having to do with interfering with an investigation of financial affairs of the “Church” IIRC?
UnFreakinBelievable!
I have a new game. Let’s play Count the Logical Fallacies. I counted about six. The one with the highest score wins a free hour of auditing!

It’s quite the famous case of clams out of control. link

WHAT CRIMES HAVE YOU COMMITTED, DAMMIT?!
When are cops, executives, etc., going to learn that putting the palms of their hands over camera lenses looks very, very, VERY BAD? Worse, indeed, than anything the camera could possibly record?
Okay, I’m gonna be the wet blanket, devils advocate hat wearin’ mutha fucka here. . .
I agree that the subjects of the video were complete tools, not because they are Scientologists, but because they came off as, ya know, stupid. Belieeeeeeve me, I have no love (or particular interest for that matter) for the Church, but as someone who lives in the midst of their Mother Ship, I have yet to feel or see the effects of their screed.
Sure, I’ve read the same stuff you all have, in fact I’d be willing to bet I’ve read a lot more, being in the fallout zone. I guess I don’t understand how anyone sees them as anything more than a joke. Granted, they’re a multi-million dollar joke, but does anyone really find them threatening? The Lisa McPherson(sp) case aside, do they really have that much impact on anyone?Lest you think I’m defending them, my feelings are truly neutral. I’ve walked among their minions for years and the actual, work-a-day practitioners ( as opposed to the publicity sucking celebrities) have never made a blip on my radar.
No doubt these are some twisted (in my opinion) individdles; but why do people find them so threatening?

Whether WeirdDave has or has not stopped beating his wife is irrelevant.[/SIZE]
I respectfully beg to differ.
I’m Weirddave’s wife. In case someone doesn’t know.

I respectfully beg to differ.
So has he stopped beating you?
Jim

I respectfully beg to differ.
When did you stop beating him?

When did you stop beating him?
What makes you think I have?
NOTE: THIS IS IN JEST. I DO NOT BEAT MY HUSBAND, AND HE DOES NOT BEAT ME.

They do, however, pay me to beat them both.
