Scientology's "Sea Org" - has anyone "come back" (reincarnation)?

Please, this thread is for the question asked, is intended respectfully, and is not intended to become a general thread to discuss the merits of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard, etc. Input from Scientologists and Non-Scientologists is welcome. If this question has as a basis an incorrect fact, feel free to tell me so. I am NOT a Scientologist.

Scientology has a monastic order known as the Sea Org, which is organized in a paramilitary fashion (uniforms, ranks, rituals, etc.) Their motto is, or at least was, “Revenimus”, or “we come back”, which I believe refers to their belief that souls (I believe they call them “thetans”) who had joined the Sea Org and signed a billion year contract would return in their next life to serve the Sea Org again in furtherance of that billion year committment.

Has any person been identified by Scientology or individual Scientologists as being the reincarnation of a former Sea Org member, or has any person claimed to be such but gone unrecognized?

If someone were identified as a reincarnation of a former Sea Org member:

  1. Are they required to rejoin/join the Sea Org in order to remain in good standing with the Church of Scientology? (i.e., “Joe, you can’t stay a Scientologist without joining the Sea Org. The e-meter says that you signed a billion year contract in your last life.”)
  2. Would they get their old rank and/or job back? (e.g. “Joe Jones, the e-meter has verified that you are a reincarnation of Lieutenant Commander Bill McDonald who was the assistant manager of the Seattle Mission. Here’s your old stuff, Lieutenant Commander. The Seattle Mission is expecting more of your great work.”)

I am only barely aware of the cult, let alone it’s sub-divisions; but in a billion years one may assume that considerable aeons of time may elapse between incarnations, during which periods they lie sleeping. So all those who knew the previous incarnation might be in this dream-state too long to identify the return of an old one.

Some things can’t be described.

Are there any details on what the Sea.org believes in this? Things like “yes, you come back, but don’t know who you are.” or “There’s a period of x years before you rise again.”
