In, missed shot does double damage to a ship of opposing players choice.
"They shot my hair!" - ranged ground combat does trivial damage; returned fire has doubled accuracy.
Raspberry Jam - disables target’s primary sensors for X turns.
“This is no cave” Allows one of your ships to instantly disappear from the enemy’s reach for X turns for minor repairs. Ship has a chance of being destroyed at the end of this effect.
“He who controls the Spice…” Whoever plays this card would get increased income from all sources for a limited number of turns.
“The gate is always down” Gives the player an advantage in movement or some other tactic or limits the enemy for several combat turns.

Either way, it is bad for Zathras - reduces defensive capabilities of players ships for x turns
paying off karma at a vastly accelerated rate. - damaged ships get defensive buff for x turns
We live for the One, we die for the One. player ships get boost in firepower at the expense of defense for 1 turn
No boom today. Boom tomorrow. - any ship destroyed during a round gets a bonus attack before being removed from play.

Make that: Player ships get damage boost (say 3x normal) with reduced accuracy for 1 turn. In exchange they reduce their defensice capabilities for 3 rounds ![]()
“You should really just relax” Allows one unit to, against all odds, survive the turn with minimal damage.
“Roll Fizzlebeef” With a manly yell a unit puts itself on a crash course. Destroying itself, but dealing massive damage in the process.
“The One Who Points the Way” A unit thought dead has survived…and brought a small force with him. Resurrect one unit and draw X number of free units.
In: Chance for enemy ships to involuntarily withdraw from combat.
In: instant recovery of 2 points of shields. but ship may not withdraw from combat until end of battle.
In: +1 attack rolls -1 shield recovery rolls for remainder of battle.

In: =1 income to all opposing players planets for 2 turns. All lost income routes to player playing the card.
Here’s one that was used in the original Escape Velocity game for the Mac, and it was the ultimate weapon you could attach to your ship. Using it would cause unspeakable damage to your enemies. From MST3K’s riffing of Fugitive Alien, it’s: the FORKLIFT!!
I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that. – Allows a player to ignore any one controlling effect played upon him by another player.
“Musical Episode”. Your opponent can’t play any cards next turn, but no cards can be played against them.
“We find things. Things to make us go.” You can take one card from another players hand.
“Possibly similar to a lemur or pygmy-marmoset”. Player loses turn as crew de-evolves.
“Acting Ensign”. Can be played at any time and cancels the effects of any other player’s card.
“There are 3 flowers in a vase. The third flower is green”. Play on another player’s creature/ship/character to move to your hand.
All Your Base - transfer all income, including resources, from target player for one turn.
999 - an experimental navigation droid allows player to move one ship much further than normal; droid then burns out, causing said ship to remain stationary for one turn.
Abandoned Asteroid Mine - descent into mine yields a high chance of finding supplies and a medium chance of damaging the descending ship.
“Shut up Wesley!”. Play against Acting Ensign any time to cancel
“Everything I say is a lie”. Play against a robot/computer card to discard it
“You’re my only hope”. Take a character card from the discard pile and return it to play immediately
“Growing the beard.” Play on a character to add +1 to all stats
“This will be a fertile land.” Play on a location to add +1 to all stats
“Technobabble.” Play on a ship to add +3 to all stats for one turn, then discard, never to be mentioned again. This card cannot be retrieved from the discard pile.
“Royal Fizzbin.” Take any card from another players hand and discard it.
“You’re off the force! I want your gun and your badge!”. Play against any character to discard all cards affecting the character.
“To hell with this, I’m gonna live!” Remove all damage against a character
“Paradox paradoctored”. Play at any time to cancel the effect of any one action. Cards played against are not discarded but returned to the other player’s hand.
“It belongs in a museum!” Play against any object to send to the discard pile.
“Bathe her and bring her to me.” Play against a character card and that character can take no actions for two turns.
“No, there is another.” Hero/card/action gets a twin.
“Stupid sidekick.” Hero gets harassed by an unfunny comedy relief sidekick for a turn.

“Daisy, daisy…” Ship’s AI is destroyed; -1 to all actions by ship until it takes a full turn to reboot.
“It was obstructing my view of Venus.” Destroy a planet.
