The supermarket had the end of a fillet on special offer. There was 16 oz, making one nice 8 oz steak and one 8 oz wedge. I indulged and bought both.
There’s a store around here that sometimes has T-bones for $5 a pound as a loss-leader. Unfortunately, I’m not a big steak-eater.
I always keep a look-out for the fillet tail ends in my local supermarket. You get a bag of it at half the normal per/kg price and as I’m normally going to make a thai salad out of it anyway who the hell cares if it is in slightly funny shapes?
