Best thing by USA would be to ban Islam. USA is the most powerful nation - 22-23% of world’s GDP, most powerful army, greatest soft-power. Geographically safely located(separated by oceans) and still has relatively low Islamic population percentage.
So if USA bans Islam inside USA, it would send a great and a powerful message to the world.
Er… No. That actually would be against our ideals. I just advocated a little profiling and discrimination. Banning a religion is going way too far. America’s current Muslim population has not caused any problems at all. I’m wary about opening us up to mass immigration of Muslims like Europe has, that actually has caused major problems. But our current immigration policy towards Muslims seems to be just fine.
Why don’t we just ban evil?
Islam is the source that leads to evil. All other religions except Islam live with harmony in 21st century .
It is correct that USA’s Muslim population is not greatly expected to cause great damage as long as it is low. Ban just Islam (Face covering, mosques, halal , sharia and other objectionable stuff). People who want to come to USA will tacitly denounce it to come to USA.

When I went to bed last night, the death toll was over at (or greater than) 150 on all the networks I saw (ABC, NBC, CNN, and FOX).
Just tuned into CNN and they are now saying 128 dead.
Is their any explanation why there was an error? Sensational Journalism?

That’s not the answer. It’s totally inconsistent with the Constitution and American ideals.
The answer is to be reasonably careful about who you let in the country. If you limit immigration to a small number of people who are likely to fit in and be a net benefit, then you don’t have to go banning religions. Muslims in the US tend to be well-educated and moderate, and there aren’t too many of them, so it works OK.
(I am aware that Muslim terrorists themselves are often well-educated and middle-class, but they need an angry underclass to operate in.)
Paris is surrounded by craphole banlieues full of surly, poor Middle Eastern and African Muslims. That didn’t happen spontaneously, like the weather. It was a deliberate policy of the French government. Obviously, the French people never voted for this; it was foisted on them by the powers that be, for complicated reasons.
Muslims won’t miss out much by ban on Islam. Simply won’t practice it.

Once USA cross a threshold population %age, you won’t be able to ban it anyways. So ban it now when the population %age is still low.

I thought the topic was the specific terror attacks in Paris last night, and not Islamic terrorism as a whole.
Truthseeker is an apologist for the suppression of non-hindus in the India, mostly focusing on the muslims but his evasions and excuses about the suppression/violence against others like the christians (in the pit thread) can lead you to understand that he is just your ordinary hater and promoter of oppression of those he does not like.
In any case, for the polling, the banned one selective quoting should be in fact looked at in the 2013 Pew report.
