I have a stupid question about the acceptability of that kind of an expression “scorpion bite” which is often found in online newspapers. Mosquitoes bite and scorpions sting. This fact (or expression) seems to be usual and normal. I would appreciate it if you would let me know about the usage of the passage like the following. Is this kind of English expression acceptable among native speakers?
