Scrapbookers?

I’m just curious if there are any other scrapbookers?

I do both traditional scrapbooking and am starting to dabble in digital scrapbooking. I love both worlds of it. I tend to give most everything I make away though, so I don’t have many of my finished projects, lol.

I also love to alter things, I have drawer full of things to alter, lol. I would love to talk with other scrapbookers here.

You’ll probably get better responses in Cafe Society, I let a mod know.

I’m a traditional scrapbooker. Most of my work I’ve given away, too.

Heritage: I inherited boxes and boxes of old family photos when my parents died. I’m an only child with no offspring to give them to so I decided to make scrapbooks for each of my aunts and uncles. All of the photos will ultimately be returned to their individual families. I’ve sent them all their starter albums and from now on, I’ll just send them pages to add.

Children: When my niece-in-law had her first baby, I made her a baby scrapbook…with a twist. I asked all of her family to bring stories about my niece when she was a baby and little girl. I made a childrens book with these stories so that when her son was born, she could read him a book about Mommy when she was growing up.

Vacation: I’ve scrapped a couple of vacations, one in a 6x6 album and another in a 12x12.

Puppy’s First Year: I did a “baby” book for my girlfriend’s ShihTzu’s first year in an 8x8. It turned out awesome!

I’m also doing a baby album for my girlfriend. She had an entire album of photos with those awful sticky pages. The pictures were falling out and getting destroyed so I agreed to make an album for her.

I’m also a craft supply collector. I have enough supplies for a variety of crafts for the next lifetime.

One of my favorite scrapbooking websites is twopeasinabucket.com. If you’re not familiar, definately check it out. There are a few other scrappers here that I’ve come across.

Welcome to the board, by the way. Stick around and enjoy. We’re a motley bunch, but I’ll bet you’ll like us!

Off to Cafe Society.

I’m a beginning scrapbooker myself. I’ve made a few paper albums, and recently got into digital scrapbooking. I don’t have much time, though, so I mostly make cards for other people’s birthdays and such. My biggest project always seems to be keeping my stash of supplies under control…

Welcome to the Dope, Most Creative User Name Ever. And thanks for the link, Ruby!

It’s great to see a couple other scrapbookers around here.

I do go to 2peas, but mainly lurk there, don’t post that much.

Ruby, it definitley sounds like you are keeping busy with all of your projects! I love making mini books, I made one for Mom for mothers day last year or the year before.

I’m married, but with no kids, and since I’m fairly young, I get a few odd looks when I tell people I scrapbook. I guess I’m not one that they would view as a scrapbooker, but I love it.

I hear you on the supply collecting. This spring my LSS (local scrapbook store) had a garage sale, and I paid for 2-tables there and filled them up. I ended up making a tidy sum, which they put on a gift card for me. Since going through all my stuff, I’ve been much more selective with what I’m buying. Although the half off sales at hobby lobby kill me. I went in there last week for adhesive, and ended up spending $50 on paper and leaving with no adhesive. Put on the plus side, it was all half off, lol.

xnylder, thanks for the welcome. I do like it here. If you have any scrapbooking questions, I’m no expert, but am willing to try to answer. Also happy to get another person addicted, lol.

waving Hi! I’m a Two-Peaser (mostly on NSBR these days).

I’ve been scrapping off and on for years (went through a rather long dry spell) and now I’m doing mostly digi, and designing digital products also. Actually I spend way more time designing than scrapping. Messing around in Photoshop is just so fun. I’m trying to learn Illustrator now, too. I’ve used Corel Draw for years and I’m good at vectors, but I feel like I’m barely making a dent in Illustrator so far.

I made some torn-paper digi templates that turned out really well. You can see them in my most recent layouts here.

Wow, Helena, those are great!

I am an absolute newbie scrapbooker, and I am skipping the “traditional” methods and trying to get the hang of digital. I hope it is all right if I bookmark your link so I can use it for inspiration if I ever make it that far!

Sure! Digishoptalk also has a great forum where you can find out about all sorts of things.
