So, I’ve managed to get a bit of a scratch on the screen of my laptop. It’s fairly small but rather visible and (to me) distracting. Is there some product that can safely repair scratches on an LCD screen?

Try Rain-X. Serious. It makes rain slide off of your cars windshield by filling in all the little imperfections (like scratchs and pits). It’s basically wax formulated for glass. I use it on my ipod nano and my blackberry on a regular basis and haven’t suffered any ill effects. Apply with a soft cloth, let dry to haze and buff it out.
I wonder if it’d hel with scracthed glasses - specs, that is.
Unless someone says it won’t I think I’ll give it a whack.
