A few years ago, I had an internet based program that was called either Pointcast or Datacast that constantly scrolled news/sports/ info across the bottom of my screen. Evidently, this had morphed into something called Infogate which is no longer free. Does anyone know of any free sites/programs that would do the same thing?

With AOL Instant Messenger, you can set up a scrolling news ticker. You have to be signed on to AIM to use it.
Apparently, Yahoo! has some sort of news ticker. I have not checked it out though, but according to form and function it’s pretty good.
