I thought it was relatively clear that the basis of my argument was that Scum would do that.
Your argument is that scum wouldn’t allow a vote involving scum to be that close without at least one scum voting for the scum.
My argument is that Scum would vote one of their buddies in a close race for potential cred, and Scum would spread out the vote–I am assuming there is at least one Scum remaining in the one-off voters as well.
That’s two sides of the same coin. You’re so sure that you know exactly how scum would act in that situation that you’re to base a vote solely on that?

I’ve looked back over the end of Day 3 voting to see if Rysto’s vote was in fact scummy. This is his vote:
That was at 2:22pm EST (Day ended at 3pm) and this vote moved **Kelly **into a tie with Mahaloth. While this is a pretty crappy vote, and I agree in principle that it is unlikely that there would be NO scum voting for **Kelly **that Day, I think that it is less likely that a Scum would vote to move a team member into a tie with less than 45min left in the Day.

Look at it this way. The longest Kelly could have been expected to live at that point was one more Day. Kelly appears to have had no additional powers. The vote at that point was a tie; any number of people could have broken it in Mahaloth’s favor (including Scum), and in fact, that’s exactly what happened. Knowing that Kelly was Scum and wasn’t going to live much longer, I would fully expect at least one Scum to vote Kelly and vote late, just to look good later. This, or something very similar, has happened in pretty much every game I’ve played in.
You know, I had been looking at Day 3 in isolation, but you’re right; Scum would’ve known that **Kelly **was a goner eventually and moving a Scum player into a tie or lead is a great way to get Townie cred. And looking back at the last hour of voting that day it was **Rysto **who put Kelly into a tie, then Cookies(known town) put him ahead, before **Alka **(known Scum) moved it back into a tie. It was **story **(known town) who finally put **Mahaloth **into the lead.
So I’m with you now…

Hard to say. If everyone who had voted for Kelly on Day 3 had been proven to be Pond, I’d continue to look at those who had helped save Kelly that Day.
