I hereby introduce what is most likely an entirely new post-count statistic - most posts by one poster to a single thread. Never seen this dealt with before. And we already have a champion, that being our greatly beloved Scylla himself.
You can see how this feat was accomplished in this thread, but trust me - you don’t want to. But there is a nifty feature of the board - if you click on the # of replies icon, it gives the distribution of posts by poster (a useful feature actually, if you’re unsure if you want to read through a lengthy thread). And checking there, we see that Scylla has accumulated no less than 187 posts to that single thread - more than the entire post count of many respectable posters. By percentage it’s about 37% of the total posts, for a thread that reached 11 pages. Truly a magnificent accomplishment.
(Disclosure: I don’t have any means of actually checking every other thread to know for certain that this is indeed the all-time record. But considering the maximum length of threads and the unique dynamics of that particular one, I cannot imagine that it was ever replicated).
I dunno, Ask Torgo! features 29 of 52 replies belonging to Torgo, and including the OP that’s 30 of 53, for 56.6% of all posts in the thread. Osip had almost 20% of the posts here, and Arden Ranger got just under 20% of the posts in this marathon of a thread. Then we have Arden Ranger again claiming top billing with 26.5% of the posts here, and … huh. The search engine isn’t able to locate sunb’s old Onion Headlines thread. Odd, that.
I just spent 5 minutes looking for a “# of replies icon” before I realized it was just the text link in the thread list. Sometimes I stun myself with my ability to overlook the obvious.
