But the best interpretation for colitas, found by some alert lunatic-detectors at StraightDope.com, went something like this.

"Like, there was this hotel? In California? The Hotel California? And, like, three blocks away? There was this fireworks factory? And it, like, blew up? And, like, there was this one worker named Wurn Snell? And he was from this town in Greece named Colitas? And he got blown up, so dude, that’s the lyric: Warm smell of Colitas, rising up through the air.

Not at all. It was just like, you know, a signature. I got caught up in the moment. There’s a little place in the Pit and another in IMHO where I can spread propoganda. Sorry if I offended your ironically delicate hockey sensibilities.

[off subject], but: Actually, at this point, I will also say “Go Leafs!” Once the Pens mop up Buffalo, I would much rather they play Toronto. 2 reasons. One: They can beat Toronto. Two: If they don’t, I don’t hate Toronto, and thus can live with it. I also give my etermal thanks to the Leafs for knocking out Ottawa, thus sparing the Penguins 7 games against those Devils the New Jersey Devils.
