I’ve written a song about Roy Keane.
“Roy Keane, f***ing it up again
Roy Keane, spoiling it for everyone”
Roy Keane sent home and retired from international football ? Holy fook:

I demand a re…re…re…prediction. Thing. Maybe.
there shall be no changing results once they are submitted.
Sorry.

Insert lots of pit stuff.
It may lift the team to try harder but Keane was the most important player we have and also let his presence felt on the field. I’ll let more knowledgeable people debate the effects of his departure but one thing is certain he’s not going to be very popular in this part of the world right or wrong.
Interview with Keane yesterday in the Irish Times with him talking about some of the problems he had.

[disclaimer: full facts not yet known]
The timing is disastrous. If he had walked out, as threatened, the first time he threw his toys out of the pram, at least Colin Healy could have been called up. Now the squad are a man down. If someone hits him with a golf club before he gets on the plane, could it be called a withdrawal due to injury and Mr. Healy could join the squad? I’ve enormous sympathy for Healy. He was told he was being called up, then he was told he wasn’t and now he can’t be. He must be absolutely sickened.
Whatever about the criticisms of the FAI, the “Alex talked me out of it” comment seemed like a calculated attempt to undermine Mick McCarthy. He was probably right to send him home.

So, presumably it’s Kinsella and Holland in the centre of the park. But you never know - Mick likes to have a stopper in the team so maybe Carsley could get the nod? I’m sure Carsley will see action at some stage.
Hopefully the squad will now pull together and focus on the job at hand (how many football cliches can I get into this post?) but he’s going to be seriously missed on the pitch.
Shades of Ruud Gullit in 1994…
Keano, you stoopid idiot.
it was right for him to be sent home, going on the current facts.
Christ, this is the LAST thing we needed.
What an ego Keane must have to put himself before team and country. Sorry Irish fans, I hope the rest of your squad can somehow make up for this.
Hang on, hang on. I thought this had been resolved, that Keane was now staying?
No, that was yesterday…
Roy was interviewed for the papers, and slagged off the set up, the travel arrangements and the facilities.
Then there was a ‘clear the air’ meeting with Mick McCarthy which turned into a slanging match. McCarthy said “I cannot and will not be spoken to with that level of abuse” and sent Keane home.
As it’s not an injury situation, he can’t be replaced.

Just got a mail with a attachment with a picture of Keane with a gun sight on his head and the caption
It always amazes me how quick these things get around. Just the beginning IMO.
Oh dear
Where’s Jeff Gollhooey when you need him.
Jeff who?
I believe that Twisty was making a Tonya Harding reference and meant Jeff Gillooly. Shawn Eckardt might have been more fitting.
