I have confirmation from 10 people that they can make the draft if we do it tomorrow, Sep 1. I haven’t heard from Omniscient or Overly Sentimental. Ideally I will hear from them in the next few hours and announce a change in schedule, but if they don’t both confirm, I might just be swapping one absent player for another, in which case we’ll stick with the draft date we’ve been working with for weeks and draft Wednesday. I will make one more attempt to get confirmation from those two.
Are we going to be on a chat for this (or any other drafts) this year? It’s very entertaining?
I’ve got a mumble server we can use. Only about 4 people typically show up bit it’s usually interesting. I’ll post instructions when I get home.

Can you please post the precise finalized draft date and time. I do not trust Yahoo at all with this stuff, it’s made me miss these in the past because of the terrible way it fails to handle calendar invites and time zones.

One of my drafts was canceled. So I’ll just have 2 drafts at 9pm. Since they’re both on-line and snake drafts, I should be able to do both.

If you want to get together on voice chat with us tonight, we use mumble as a client. It should run a configuration wizard that makes it easy to set up. You will want to set a push to talk key - even if you’re joining just to listen and not to talk, there’s sometimes a weird quirk/bug when you first join a server where you have to transmit at least once before you hear others.
Anyway, download the appropriate version, go through the wizard, go to the connect screen and add a new server

Remove the slashes from the address, that’s just to keep bots from picking it up. If you still have it from last year, you may need to change the port to the new number, server will be the same.
Once you’re there, go down to the channel “SDMB gaming” by double clicking on it.
I suppose we could use skype if everyone prefers that, too, since more people will probably already have it.
Quick scoring change - I didn’t put it up for debate because I think it’s minor and obvious but if you have an objection go ahead with it - but since extra points now are 33 yard field goals, I set the penalty for missing one to -1 rather than the previous -3.
Three hours till the draft. I hope/expect everyone to attend.
Also, pay attention to nominations. We have a chronic problem where people go through this “Oh, it’s my turn to nominate? Uh, uh… let’s see… uh…” and 25 seconds later we have a nomination. It won’t be a huge deal in this league bit adds like an hour to the damn big league draft.
Until players start going for $1, it doesn’t matter who you nominate, someone will outbid you. Just watch for when it’s your turn (it goes in order, left to right, along the top of the screen) and then just nominate the top guy on the list.
Didn’t we start 2 QBs last year?
No. I think I may have proposed it once as part of a series of ways of changing things up, but we’ve never had 2 QBs in this league. The only setting change from last year was the missed XP penalty.

Super league, I think. The one where we essentially drafted double rosters. I think we almost shut Varlos out of QBs.
