SDMB and Javascript

I use Firefox as my browser and with the new 1.5RC I’ve been getting a lot of ‘Warning: Unresponsive script’ messages when visiting the board. There’s an option to stop the script, or to wait for it to complete, but either way it’s slowing down my browsing here.
I do have an option to turn Javascript off, which I’ve done, just for this site (I haven’t run into this anywhere else yet). My question is, are there functions on the board which won’t operate without Javascript? In other words, am I missing something by not using it when I come on to the boards? (Thus far all seems fine.)

Uh-oh! Just tried to put a link in for a post in another thread. Zilch.

Javascript goes back on!

On your browser toolbar, select Tools, then Internet Options, then click on the **Advanced ** tab. Under Accessibility, put a check in ‘Disable Script Debugging’, and uncheck 'Display a notification about every script error’. Then click OK.

These script errors rarely affect the proper operation of a web page. Out of sight, out of mind.

Thanks, Fear Itself, but that only applies to IE. There’s no such option in Firefox.

However, for others who may be experiencing this with the new Firefox release, I did find a fix. Go to about:config and find the entry dom.max_script_run_time. Modify the value to 0 and Bob is your estimable uncle. No more annoying messages.

Sorry, didn’t notice you were using Firefox. Glad you found a work around.

In a hurry to post an answer, were ya? :stuck_out_tongue: :smack:
