SDMB Auction Fantasy Football 2012

I agree. The only reasons I would have to stop a trade would be incompetence or collusion. Those are not issues here (in our league).

While today, it doesn’t look like the greatest of trades, we’ll see how it plays out for the rest of the season. Fred Jackson and Spiller could end up being the DeAnglelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart of Buffalo. Cutler and Brandon Marshall might remember they play on the same team ow.

I can’t field receivers this week. Maclin out, Nicks out, Garcon doubtful, Lloyd questionable… I don’t have anyone on my bench that isn’t worth keeping, gonna have to drop someone good to get startable WRs.

Definitely sucks for only being week 3 yet.

Another trade between Redbirds and Exploding Pancakes, I think no controversy this time.

Redbirds trades Danny Amendola WR for to Pancakes for RB Alfred Morris. Both teams want the trade to be effective for Sunday 9/23.

Another trade.

Phoenix Redbirds gives up Danny Amendola
Exploding Pancakes gives up Alfred Morris

This one will probably be less controversial but Jules should at least give a good habitual freakout. Amendola had a big game last week, but he’s tied to the St. Louis offense and how likely is it that he’s going to go nuts? But he’s probably a high target high floor kind of guy.

Alfred Morris has been the undisputed starter in Washington so far, but who knows what’s going to happen.

I have very good RB depth, he has very good WR depth, but we’re both lacking in the opposite category. Pretty much an equal trade.

As per usual procedure I’m going to let this go through now, as I’d do for anyone who clearly stated their preference to get the trade pushed through for the current week.

[/walking on eggshells]

Completely uncalled for.

The second trade is fine, if you consider it in a vacuum. The first trade… there aren’t words strong enough to denounce the first trade appropriately.

You have had a similar reaction to about 7 of my trades, though.

Incidentally, Spiller I don’t think will finish the year as a top 5 running back and probably not top 10. This is the ideal time for him - Fred Jackson is out, and its his show, and he’s played bad defenses - and he’s still barely had 14 carries a game. I think that’s probably his ceiling. Fred Jackson is recovering fast (may play week 4) and then it becomes a committee split. Do you think he can maintain 10 YPC to keep his place amongst the top RBs?

It looks cringe-worthy now because he followed up a huge flukey week with another flukey week, but he’ll return to earth - probably next week - back to putting up 6-10 point games. I still think of him as Fred Jackson’s handcuff rather than as a top RB starter in his own right.

And I’m starting Cutler this week. I like him coming off a long rest against the Rams rather than Rodgers going into Seattle.

With Jamal Charles back, Jules’ team is starting to look pretty ridiculous.

I can’t figure out whether to start CJ Spiller or Fred Jackson so… go go Willis McGahee.

I’ve got a scant 0.30 lead going into Tuesday’s stat adjustments. Neither of us has MNF players. Is this the closest game this season?

My team looked pretty dominant early on, but I’ve been fairly beat up with injuries. Not the IR type, but Jackson, then I traded for Spiller and he lasted a week, then I traded Alfred Morris for Amendola and he’s out for half the season, Nicks missed 3 or 4 games, Maclin missed a few and then hasn’t been healthy enough to be worth starting, Garcon missed a few weeks…

Even though they haven’t been full season IR losses, I think I lead in weeks missed by starting players as a whole. The good news is that my team can become a powerhouse again if everyone gets over their injuries.

Some of my favorites from this league:

Week 5:

Crowley’s Bentley has lost five times and three of them have come to teams who beat their scoring average in that matchup.

The margin of victory of 0.30 points was the smallest in the league this season.

Crowley’s Bentley scored 100.40 points and lost. It is the fifth-highest losing score in the league this season.

Week 4

Three of the four losses for Crowley’s Bentley this season have come when their opponent had their highest-scoring week of the season.

The 5.74-point margin of victory was the smallest in the league this week.

It was a tough loss for Crowley’s Bentley, which put up the second-biggest score for a losing team in the league this season.

Week 1

At 1.28 points, the margin of victory was the tightest of the week.

I have the top two fantasy RBs and four of the top 12 WRs. I can’t wait to see how this all comes crashing down around me.

It’ll definitely be interesting, as I view us as having the two best teams, although you’ve surpassed me in the last few weeks due to the aforementioned injury issues. If my team can manage to get healthy and get its shit together, we’ll have an interesting end of season.

I’m tied with Court Jesters. I’ve got McGahee and the Packers D, he has James Jones and Alex Green. I’d rather have his end of this - Houston doesn’t give up many points to defenses. Gotta hope for a defensive score.

Varlos has a 5 point lead, Schaub, and Andre Johnson against Bentley’s Peyton Manning.

Benders has a 12 point lead, Thomas, Crosby, and the Texans D against Jules’ Foster and Graham.

MTRG has 23 points on Chuck with Nelson and Floyd still to play against Decker, Mathews, and Gates.

I’ve got Aaron Rodgers yet to play and I only need 5 points to beat Chicago Cutlery.

Yeah, I tend not to mention ones that are pretty obvious in either direction. Only way Rodgers doesn’t get 5 is if he goes out with injury in the first few minutes.

And I think I got more than 5 points out of Rogers :). Feels good to be in the thick of things in this league this year
