Well, the garbage Houston special teams TD cost me a chance at the win this week. This one hurt a bit more than normal, knowing that I left a ton of points on the bench, primarily from an NFL coach being a shady fucking dickhead.
I’d like to have been in sole ownership of first place going into the main part of the byes, but the good news is that I didn’t lose any ground this week. Things tightened up at the top, but I’ll still sit the throne for at least one more week.
PS: Everyone needs to get their shit together and stop ignoring trade offers for weeks at a time.
Yahoo has been spotty about e-mailing me notices of trade offers this year, not sure if it’s the same for others - but sometimes I don’t catch them right away. I suggest sending a PM with them just to make sure they get noticed.

Hey, real quick, I see that my trade for Witten is going to process Saturday. I came home to get Gates out of my lineup but I’m a few minutes late. Anybody mind if I play Witten this week (not Gates)? As of yet, the game hasn’t even started.
I dropped Gates from the starting roster, and I also pushed your trade through. Sometimes I don’t always notice when trades are made, so if you want them to go through immediately, post them to the thread and let me know, I’ll approve them.

And I just realized we have a tricky situation. Had you guys told me you wanted this to go through before the Thursday game, I’d have done it, but I didn’t notice the trade until Overly Sentimental metioned it in the thread.
But the trade was scheduled to go through on Saturday even without my intervention. Which would’ve created the awkward situation whereby Overly Sentimental has Witten available to use, but Crowley wouldn’t have had Gates. Were you guys planning on having that situation crop up? Again, I can work around stuff like forcing trades through quickly, but you have to state your intentions on the thread.
I wasn’t planning on starting Gates (until he scored the TD, which doesn’t really count). I had figured on going with Rudolph this week. I did want Sproles for Sunday, but the Gates thing isn’t a problem.
I agree to a trade for Darren Sproles on Wednesday, and just find out now that he has a broken hand and is out “indefinitely”. Yep, it’s been that kind of year.
Normally I’d like explicit confirmation from the player that it was the intent to have it go through this week, but since Omni loses nothing by this deal (he can’t start MJD anyway) I’m going to assume that it was his intent for it to go through now and go ahead and do it. I’ll PM him.
If Chicago puts up less than 14 points tonight, I will take over first place.
In my 3 other leagues (one non-SDMB), I will be 11th out of 12, 18th out of 20, and 10th out of 10 at the conclusion of this week, so I just had to brag even it will only be for a week or two.
Well congrats, my hope ended after about three minutes. God forbid the best fantasy defense in the history of fantasy football do anything against a back up QB.
My sad sack team finally managed to squeak one out. I can’t believe given how promising my team looked early in the season that I won’t even sniff the playoffs.
