Is everyone okay with the waiver idea where you can list as many players as you want, but you must state how many you’re willing to sign, and then be required to sign them? You can also make conditional claim, just say what you want and I’ll carry it out.
Yahoo’s fantasy matchup screen has some funny errors and advice that doesn’t seem to make that much sense sometimes.
(Chi - DEF) ***** Excellent chanced to tee off vs. struggling QB Losman.
Losman apparently sucks so much that he’s going to throw picks in a game he’s not even playing in.
Randy Moss (NE - WR) ***** Pats will likely attack with the pass and SF corners are beatable.
That’s probably just a typo though.
Then they’ll often give 3 star ratings to things they consider bad matchups.
Edit: Oh, and:
Chad Johnson @ Cle ***** Browns got lit up by Steeler passing game last week so what do you think?
It isn’t accurate to say that they were “lit up” - went like 13/27 for 160 yards or something. He did score a lot of TDs, which is what they’re referring to I’m sure, but 3 of those came on starting drives that started in the red zone or close to it because the Cleveland offense pulled a keystone cops routine.
Leigh Bodden, when healthy, owns Chad Johnson. When Chad was doing his “who covered 85?” checklist in 2005, Leigh Bodden was, IIRC, the only guy to get a “yes” checked next to him. Unfortunately he’s never healthy anymore, including a mysterious groin injury this week. Still, Houshmanzadeh against a rookie corner is a much better matchup.
Sometimes there’s good info though, like
Donovan McNabb **** Has a long history of success vs. Redskins and Eagle offense usually breaks them down.
Don’t know a whole lot about the NFC east and for some reason I find the redskins to be the most boring team in the NFL, so I never watch them.
Speaking of which, tough call between McNabb and Kitna this week. Minnesota’s pass defense is a mystery because Atlanta didn’t give them a serious test, although I think their run defense is going to be for real, so I suspect the Lions might throw 40+ passes that game. Leaning towards Kitna for that reason. I’m considering starting Calvin Johnson over Anquan Boldin for that reason too.
Starting Adrian Peterson this week - Chester Taylor has been limited with a minor injury, and it’s against Detroit, so I could see a big day here. Other spot is MJD against Atlanta.
Anyone else got some tough matchup choices this week?
