SDMB Auction FF League 2010

As I predicted Jammers is putting on a good old ass whipping on Omni, meaning he probably grabs that #4 seed.

Ok, so there’s a chance the Giants/Vikings game could be cancelled. I don’t know how they resolve this in fantasy - does everyone get a 0? Are the fantasy results incomplete until the game actually occurs?

In the HHM league, Ellis Dee offered everyone the chance to make conditional roster changes that would be retroactively enforced. Like “if the game is cancelled, start Jacoby ford in Nicks’ spot”.

So if the Giants/Vikes players just put up zeros this week, I will honor any conditional requests like that. Just tell me who you would’ve started instead of your Vikes/Giants players. This can include free agents - if you’re the first one to post that you want them, you get dibs.

I’m not sure if this is the best way to handle this situation because I’m not sure exactly how yahoo handles it, but we don’t have much time and declaring intentions and figuring it out later seems like the way to go.

I’d pick up Reggie Bush and start Ricky Williams if I don’t get to use Bradshaw/Jacobs. I’d start both Jacobs/Bradshaw even if the game is moved outdoors to University of Minnesota.

Ok, NFL.com is saying the game will be moved to Detroit (really, you fucking pussies - play outdoors at University of Minnesota at least) on Monday, so don’t worry about conditionals and set your rosters normally.

Crap, if Rocket Scientist continues to lose, Jules is gonna end up getting the #3 seed, which means I don’t get to knock him out of the first round myself, and I don’t trust you guys to do it. He might make it to the championship game.

Jules may lose anyway. He’s got a 20 point lead on Ellis Dee with DeSean Jackson, Sidney Rice, and Akers left to play. Ellis Dee has Boldin, Nicks, McCoy, Witten, and Tynes.

Benders is getting an ass kicking though. 50 points behind plus whatever Peterson scores and he only has Rice, Celek, and Cundiff.

So I guess whether or not Ellis Dee wins is what will determine the seeding for the playoffs. Since Omni lost, it’s definitely going to be me, Varlos, Jules, and Rocket Scientist.

Yeah, I’ll be entering the playoffs in style. The Benders were clobbered last week, too.

One and done for sure.

Ellis Dee still has a shot of handing Jules a loss. Jules has a 28 point lead and Sidney Rice, Ellis Dee has Boldin, Nicks, and Tynes.

Benders has pretty much lost, so Jules winning will get him the #3 seed (facing Varlos), and losing will get him the #4 (facing me).

Well, that was the worst possible result - Jules got in, and I don’t get the chance to crush him in round 1.

  1. SenorBeef
  2. Varlos
  3. Jules
  4. It’s not rocket surgery!

I’m actually kind of concerned. When my team was peaking in like weeks 8-12 I was just absolutely demolishing people, putting up 140+ every week. But Rodgers may be out, Owens is just having Cinci shut down, Calvin Johnson has Drew Stanton, Dwayne Bowe might not have Cassel, Delhomme sucks so badly (yet they keep letting him throw) that it’s interfering with Peyton Hillis, and Antonio Gates is a minefield…

I’m still the favorite, I think, but my team is not just destroying all that come before me like they were in mid season.

Well, the playoffs are upon us. I’m the “thrilled to be there” guys for sure. If I can pat myself on the back just once (okay, I probably can’t resist doing it again at some point) I’ll say that I did a really amazing job reinventing this team to even get it to the playoffs, let alone steal a 3 seed. At one point I was 3-5 and absolutely on the outside looking in (I think I was in tenth at the time too) and I really worked the trade markets to shape a team that snuck into the playoffs. But the reality is that nobody is going to beat Beef this year. He had the exact perfect mixture of players that had terrific years without suffering any slumps and his playoff matchups are almost perfect.

I will say that I was right about his team eventually taking a shit (of sorts) on itself. He’s just lucky that it happened in week 14 instead of week 15. For as vast as the distance has been between him and the rest of the league this season, he couldn’t possibly be feeling less comfortable heading into the playoffs. When you catch breaks like that all season long you’re just destined to win. So consider this an early congratulations!

As for my actual team this week, I’m in trouble. Greg Jennings might have lost his QB and any chance of him carrying that position for me. DeSean Jackson hits the Giants who play him exceptionally well. And Sidney Rice might have lost his top two quarterbacks, so I’ll have to fish around amongst my scraps for a suitable third guy. That would have been Randy Moss if he had any balls to actually care about something for once. Still a fair shot though, that’s all I need.

Yeah, my team is definitely not unbeatable. This is by far the worst time of the year for my team. Rodgers is likely out, Antonio Gates is out, Terrell Owens just badmouthed his bosses publically so I doubt he’ll be a big part of the game plan, Dwayne Bowe may be without Cassel, and Calvin Johnson has Drew Stanton throwing him passes. Peyton Hillis may look human if the Browns keep starting Delhomme and opposing defenses stick 12 in the box.

My only players going at full strength at Vick (with a bad matchup), Andre Johnson, and Foster.

I can probably still put up 100 points per game, but it’s not going to be like weeks 8-14 where I could’ve beat the other team had they been able to start their entire bench too.

I guess it’s just a good thing you happened to come across the team who will have trouble breaking the 85 projected points barrier in round one.

Yeah, but that just means you get to beat me in the championship round and I’d never live that down.

Mega pre-bailout.

I picked a good week to have my possibly worst game of the year.

This happened to me in reverse in another league I play, where I got KOed from the playoffs in round one by a team who scored the second-lowest for the week - but I scored the lowest (largely due to Rodgers’ injury).

It’s karma, I tellya.

It kind of amuses me when people view the misfortune of others as karmic repayment for their own misfortune. I don’t think you quite get how that karma thing is supposed to work :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe your karma is from all the bragging you did from when your team was kicking ass and taking names, although honestly I would have done the same.

No insult meant - I’m not good at this “trash talk” stuff.

It’s kind of amazing really that I’m starting so many top 5 players at their positions who aren’t even achieving mediocrity at this point.

On the other hand, you just got 3 TDs from your guys in short order.
