Sdmb - Best Comic Piece (until The Next One Comes Along)

As an aside, just so there’s no confusion (from SPOOFE’s comment a few posts back) I not only didn’t write #4, I didn’t write any of 'em.

Fenris

Yer right, Fenris, the harrowing tale of Fuzzy O’Flannigan was my piece… I threw your name in there to, well, be funny.

Say, am I supposed to get some sort of award? A statue, or a plaque? Or perhaps a matching washer-dryer set? Or luggage? Oh, oh, or a troupe of a dozen dancing monkeys?!?

Thank You SPOOFE for that extremely exciting and wonderful speech. Unfortuantely, it was edited for time and only came out has:

which is probably all we needed to know. At least you didn’t thank OralB for their fine line of toothbrushs.

Maybe I should have mentioned, yes, SPOOFE’S piece was number 4 and he won by one vote over #3, who has yet to step up and accept his acclaim, but I will leave it to the participants to decide whether to identify themselves or not.

Well, I wrote piece number 1, but i don’t think it matters much because no one knows who I am anyway.

::takes quick bow::

Thanks to all who voted for me, and when the “next one comes along” I still want to be a participant.

Congrats, SPOOFE

I wrote #2.

Hmm, well yes. In my defense, I turned in my first draft which I wrote while drunk. Even with the time extension I was unable to find the time to get it into truly polished form. How appropriate that family related matters on Easter kept me from fininshing my story dissing the easter bunny.

Obviously the “fuzzy hell” line at the end should have been as follows:

Damn. Well, I’ve had alot of fun, made some excuses, and in the end - I blame my loss entirely on Esprix. I’m off to cry myself to sleep.

DaLovin’ Dj

See? I was right.

Esprix

Like that one? It’s my new pony. I call it “The Invisible Rolleye’s”. Good for trickin’ out.

DaLovin’ Dj

Well, I wrote Piece #3, which I understand lost by one vote to Piece #4, which I actually thought was funnier than mine.

At the same time, I didn’t vote, and if I had, I would have voted for myself, so I would have tied for first, and then I could have demanded a recount and got the Supreme Court involved in it.

I will always consider SPOOFE an illigitimate contest winner. Damn those dangling chads.

Seriously, SPOOFE, congratulations on a very funny Mickey Spillane knock-off.

And thanks to Hamlet for putting this whole thing together.

You knew the rules beforehand! You knew the rules beforehand! I’m legit, I tells ya! I dint send no subliminable messerges!

Heh.

Just wait until you try to appoint a federal judge, baby.

I’ve been wandering around SDMB for a few months as an unregistered user, and Hamlet’s idea inspired me to register. I read the inaugural Best Comic Piece thread and intended to vote for the Hellish life of Mr Fuzzy, then found out I was a month too late!

Two questions: Is there a new competition in progress? And can anyone give me any tips on navigating round the SDMB? I’m a message board virgin, so could use some help!

Yeah, Hamlet, now that your little game’s made Threadspotting, are you up for another round?

I second the motion.

Well, I wrote #5. Forgot to post that I did befire.

Hamlet , where are you? And where’s the next competition?

It took a bit of time to put the first one together, and I’ve been a bit swamped IRL to commit. However, I finish up a case this week, so I’m hopefully going to start another next week. Anyone at all who is interested in the next round, please email me when you get a second. Thanks.

The game’s afoot! Hurrah!

Nerrie, does this mean you’re going to have something to enter?

Well, I won’t enter this one (or WILL I?!? Bwahahaha!)… but I will be on hand for a passing-of-the-torch ceremony for the next person that does win.

But be careful with the trophy cup… I’ve been drinking tequila out of it.

If SPOOFE’s in the Premiership of wits, I’m in the Vauxhall Conference, not that that’ll make a great deal of sense if you’re not British. No, I won’t be entering but I’m looking forward to reading those submitted.
