Since there was no objection, I’m going to say we can involve FAAB dollars in trades. Just post in the thread who’s giving how many and I’ll adjust the totals. This might give Court Jesters some chance to build a team, maybe he can trade some of his $255 FAAB dollars for crappy but startable players.
I’ll probably look around and initiate a few offers myself, but Brandon Jackson is officially on the trading block. I need an upgrade at WR … or possibly TE, but WR probably works better. What I’d like is to trade Jackson along with Jabar Gaffney for someone else’s stud WR + placeholder RB, but other ideas or constructions are welcome, of course.
Also, Jabar Gaffney is on the block independent of Jackson, if you’re not interested in the latter. I’d just need a WR of comparable value to break up my pair of Denver WRs.
VarlosZ, tried to send an offer , but the system says that you have the max allowed trade?
Ha, I didn’t know that there was a limit. That’s weird. If anyone is curious, I have four trade proposals of mine, and two that were sent by other teams, so it would appear that you can’t have more than 6 pending trade offers at a time.
Never ran into that. You could always talk out proposals with the board’s PM feature.
Also, it seems Yahoo upped their league limit to at least 5. It’d been 4 for quite a while. I’m not sure if I tried 5 last year.
**Varlos **sends:
RB Brandon Jackson
WR Jabar Gaffney
Unrelated Siblings sends:
RB Le’Ron McClain
WR Andre Johnson
Well, another week where my quarterback puts up negative points, then gets injured.
Anyone want to trade for an injured quarterback? I have 3.
That may be so, but you’re still *crushing *me.
::sigh:: And I woke up feeling good today. I think I need a drink.
Because i had to leave the draft early, i ended up with two Defensive teams, Philadelphia and Washington. I didn’t feel i needed two D’s, so i was going to dump the Redskins but never got around to it.
Now, two weeks in, i’m pretty tempted to dump the Eagles and keep the Redskins. Washington’s defense looks pretty damn good so far; they’ve managed to put 5 sacks on Schaub today, and Philly gave up 32 points to the Lions. If i had gone with the Redskins, i could have about 10 points; the Eagles gave me zero.
Of course, as soon as i post that, Schaub connects with Johnson for a 34-yard TD.
I think teams are gonna have a very tough time beating me in this league. I was apparently the favorite after the draft, and then I used Brandon Jackson, who was a nothing when I got him, to upgrade from Jabar Gaffney to Andre Johnson. My team would actually be pretty good in a 12-team league. With 20, it’s dominant. I’m only upset that we send 8 to the playoffs, since I’m pretty certain I’ll be in the top 4.
After two whole weeks … The hubris is astounding. It’ll be fun watching what the fantasy gods have in store for you.
Gods can’t be guilty of hubris.
While normally I’d agree with you (“Thou shalt not insult the fantasy gods” should be tattooed on your forehead in a league like this), I think Varlos is right. It’s only week two and I already feel like 10-12 teams are completely without hope (myself included).

I trade a $35+5 for a $37 and it’s outrageous, you grab Johnson for a waiver grab and it’s all cool

Yeah, as soon as I saw I was doing well this week, I felt pretty silly about that post.
We have an issue that cropped up.
We used to do the gameday-till-tuesday waiver system manually, by having people send me e-mails and I’d resolve the waivers. The HHM keeper league still does it this way. Two years ago (or last year?) yahoo implemented an automatic system to handle this where you put in your own bids, so we switched to using that, but apparently Hamlet was unaware of that, because he e-mailed me his waiver claim.
Because it was a good-faith effort to make a claim (it came in on Tuesday morning at 9am ET, properly stated its intentions, etc) I’m inclined to manually go ahead and process that claim. He wanted Bruce Gradkowski with a bid of $21. In the actual yahoo waiver resolution, Gradkowski was picked up by Sizzurp Sippers for $3, so Hamlet would’ve won.
I’m leaning towards reverting Sizzurp’s pickup (taking away Gradkowski and giving him back Jay Feely who he dropped), and refunding his $3 bid, and giving Gradkowski to Hamlet and reducing his FAAB by $21. There’s no funny business here - Hamlet just happened to misunderstand our system and I wasn’t near a computer anytime tuesday to correct him on it after he sent me the e-mail.
Are there any problems with this?
You are the Commissioner. If the acquisition passes muster for you, it’s fine with me.
If I don’t have a problem with it, I doubt anyone else should either.
