I’ve started a trend of trying to get SDMB gamers together to play in various games… I have too much time on my hands.
It’s much more fun than playing with random people, anyway.
I bought defcon today, and I know it’s been discussed before, so some dopers have the game. Since you can get a good game going from anywhere from 2 to 6 people, it should be fairly easy to get a few people together for a game.
If we use normal game settings, we can allow 1 demo player into the game based on the demo restrictions.
Would anyone be interested? If so, what sort of times are best for you?
I have the demo installed on my home computer, but I have yet to play it. I may be interested in trying to get a game going a bit later since I missed out on The Ship.
I have to start playing Defcon again- my hard copy just came today from the UK. I usually play against the computer since I suck at it, but I’d be happy to have a fellow Doper nuke me off the face of the earth. I’ve just changed my username to “mobo85,” same as my SDMB username. I’ll be looking for you guys out there…
Well, in the event that enough people seem interested, and post what times are ideal for them, we could schedule games, set a password, and do doper-only games. It’ll be much more effective than just trying to coincidentally run into each other.
How about we try tonight, say, 9 eastern, 6 pacific (3 hours)? I’ll create a locked game with the name “SDMB” and the password of cecil. Because of the restrictions, we can allow one demo player, first come, first serve.
We may not get many people, but you can have an interesting game with just 3 or 4.
Well, since this game needs everyone to show up at one time, and can’t just come and leave like, say, a deathmatch game, I figured it would be a better idea to find a common time everyone can play, and then schedule it for that time.
Well, let’s try this again. 9pm eastern/6pm pacific, I’ll create the game. 1 hour. If there’s still a lack of interest, I’ll stop posting to the thread.
