Yeah, in a perfect world I’d be up for doing separate veteran and rookie drafts, or a rookie-only draft subsequent to a veteran waiver-wire situation such as Beef described, but the combined draft is just so much easier that, unless there’s strong, widespread sentiment to try and make another system work, that’s probably what we’ll do.

Also on my “perfect world” wishlist would be the Rule 5 draft we (meaning “I”) briefly discussed when we were getting the league together. I think it would be a huge amount of fun, but the logistics of the thing probably make it unworkable.

Reminder. Teams with empty/bye/injured players that need to be adjusted: Warner’s Brothers, New York Fanboys

I have a slim lead, and I’m still playing Rodgers and the Vikings defense. So if the Vikings get a sack, I gain 1 point but lose .5. If they get a pick, I gain 2 but lose 2. If GB scores some other way than Rodgers, I lose points. If they score with Rodgers, I gain points. Kind of weird.

I forget: how will keepers work in this league? I vaguely remember something like we keep Round 1-11 players for three years and players drafted later than that forever.

We decided against any complex system of contract length and instead went straight dynasty. You can keep any or all of the players you want, regardless of draft position, explained in post #80. When draft time comes around, every empty slot on your roster becomes a draft pick.

Oh, duh. I never noticed that post. I like that system.

Rosters still needing adjustment this week: Ellis Dee and Petey

Last week we had Warners brothers and Ellis Dee have inactive players in their starting slots. Please don’t make it a habit.

By the way - biggest fantasy bye week downgrade of all time… Warner’s Brothers has Drew Brees on bye… forcing him to start… JaMarcus Russel.

Did anyone miss the draft this year and get an autodrafted team? I can’t remember. I’m trying to compile data on fantasy participation.
Edit: Besides Justin Bailey, where it was planned/approved that he’d autodraft with a big prerank list.

LOL, yeah, that is horrible. I guess I should have put Betts in for the injured Parker/Lewis last week. Still, wouldn’t have helped. Too many players on bye last week.

I have too much quality at wide receiver. Yes, really: Steve Smith (NYG), Vincent Jackson, DeSean Jackson, Brandon Marshall, Nate Burleson.

I have Chris Cooley and Jermichael Finley at TE, and I’m not at all sanguine about Cooley’s production going forward, and I’m looking at Finley as a next-year kind of guy.

I will trade Cooley and one of my wideouts for Antonio Gates, Dallas Clark or Owen Daniels plus a #3/4 wideout. Make me an offer!

Honestly, I was thinking before the game that he might be better off just leaving the slot empty – that Russell had a better-than even chance of putting up a negative score for the game. And damned if he didn’t.

A surprising Eddie Royal is keeping me in this. I have a 7 point lead with Royal vs Rivers, so I don’t think I’ll keep it, but it should be exciting.

This wouldn’t be an issue if I had the balls to stick with my original defense pick of Atlanta which scored 12 points. Right before gameday I saw Minnesota was voted 89% to start and Atlanta only 10% and for some reason I became a pussy and caved in to popular opinion and it cost me.

Come on Tynes, field goal the hell out of that ball.

Damn it. If Leon Washington doesn’t go out on his first carry (for the season no less) I win this one easily.

As long as McNabb doesn’t throw 5 touchdowns all to guys not named DeSean Jackson while the Eagles defense simultaneously gives up equally big numbers to Redskins not named Chris Cooley, I’ll go to 6-1.

It could happen!

No it can’t. :frowning:

And I started the season so well too. Lousy Frank Gore. :smack:

Yeah. He’s totally effing up my ess in the HHM league, especially since my other back is Marion Barber, who’s been just as absent/ineffective due to injury.

The worst part is he’s ruining my Big League team too and I don’t even have him! After reading all of the injury reports, they all said it was unlikely he’d be back before week 8 and might not be 100% for even longer. So I picked up Glen Coffee. Now Coffee’s riding the pine and I’ve got no other decent replacement for bye weeks and Gore doesn’t score enough points to be the #1 back I ranked him as in the Dynasty League.
