OK, I quit.
That’s it. I’m done with this league.
For once, once, I want to go out on top. Top record, top scorer. TOP OF THE WORLD MA!!!
I’m going to savor this for … less than a week.
sigh

I’ll take second highest score, thank you. This is the only league I won in, out of 5. I hate Week 1.
At the current time, Chris Johnson is beating my entire team.
I appear to have a really, really good team.
I really don’t want to shout to the world my ill preparedness for this league, but I find myself with a couple questions that, had I been paying more attention, I probably would know by now.
First, waiver pick ups are done by bidding, correct? Is there a free agency time period, or will I always have to spend my cap space to pick up someone.
Second, once a guy is on my team, he’s there forever, right? It’s not like our keeper league where you can only keep guys you drafted, you will keep whoever is on your roster at the end of the year, right?
Third, we can cut anyone we want? So at the end of the year, when Thomas Jones is in a walker, I can cut him and pick up whoever I think will do well next year? That makes sense, but it will require me to pay more attention later in the season, which is a good thing. Along with that, will the rosters be frozen for next years draft at anytime. I think it might be a good idea to freeze rosters after week 17, so that anyone unsigned at that time goes into the draft pool. I’m not sure I would be a fan of roster moves in May or June after the real draft gives us an indication who is getting replaced.
Fourth, I’m winning. Dear God, I’m actually winning. Check your cows for two heads, and make sure the 7th seal is still sealed.
Players that are free agents go on waivers from Sunday 1pm until Tuesday night. This is so that everyone has a shot at breakout players or backup players to injured starters, rather than the guy sitting closest to the computers on Sunday. All waiver acqusitions are handled via silent auction. From Wednesday until Sunday at 1pm, you can pick up free agents normally (ie free).
Once a guy is on your roster, you can keep him as long as you want, regardless of how you got him.
Yes, you can cut anyone you want. We’re not 100% sure yet on how it will be handled, but most likely however many empty roster slots you have open during next years draft you will get a draft pick, starting from the top. So if you have 3 open slots, you will get picks in round 1, 2, and 3. It will effectively be like having 22 keepers in your last 22 draft rounds. We’re thinking of having a final cut period in the offseason so that you can free up as many draft slots as you want - but that may not be as appealing as it sounds, since the draft will consist of only rookies plus whatever players people don’t see fit to have on their roster.
I got too cute picking Trent edwards over Rodgers. He still may do well but I’d take those 31 points.
Why on earth would you do that? Rodgers had a terrific matchup.
I thought Buffalo/NO was going to turn into the shootout and Green Bay, considering St. Louis sucks and pass protection issues, might run them to death.
AAAAAAAARGH! My 12.4 point lead is now a .17 point lead, and Reggie Wayne still has a half to play for We Do HGH.
Basically, I need him to be held without a catch for 30 minutes. A fumble would be dandy.
I’m really going to regret sitting DeSean Jackson, Cedric Benson and Fred Taylor in favor of Larry Johnson. :smack:
And on the first play of the second half Wayne catches a 33 yard pass, and my undefeated season goes down the toilet.
I wouldn’t blame you for sitting Benson against the Steelers or Taylor. But DeSean? Against the lowly Chiefs? I feel no pity.
He was questionable with a high ankle sprain. I figured that between that, the fact that Kolb was starting, and the near certainty that they’d be up by 21 at the half…
Go Indy! If they don’t score a touchdown here and instead kick a field goal, I am going to find an orphan to punch.
EDIT:
YES!!!
Is the Colts coach playing against Vinatieri in fantasy too?
Woops, wrong league on that one.
I appreciate this move.
I’m not sure if anyone knows the answer to this, but is there an IR spot in this league? I have Laurent Robinson on IR but since this is a dynasty league I’d hate to drop someone with his talent. He is marked NA right now.
No, we don’t have any IR slots and yahoo doesn’t have any mechanism for it. However, you do have 15 bench slots, so you can choose to simply leave him on your roster and keep him for next year if you think he’ll be worth it.
Are we going to do separate rookie-only and free agent drafts next year, or just one big one?
I personally proposed the idea that we had some set date for offseason cuts, after which based on waiver priority people could pick up the freshly cut free agents, and then after that we have a rookie-only draft, but the idea didn’t seem popular.
Technically it would be much easier to have a combined draft, because yahoo has no mechanism for a rookie only draft, so it would have to be self-policed (and an autodraft would disobey unless someone did all rookies on their prerank list).
The easiest way to do this would be to have each player determine who he is going to cut before the draft, and then the remaining roster gets set up pre-draft as keepers at the end of their draft. IE if you kept 22 players, you’d have draft picks in rounds 1, 2, and 3… and your round 4-25 draft picks are the players on your current roster. Or if you kept 20 players, you’d have a pick in rounds 1-5, and then round 6-25 would be keepers.
It would essentially function as a keeper league where you could keep as many or as few players as you want, and their draft position didn’t matter. The draft would end up being dominated by rookies anyway, since the only free agents available would be the ones that no one saw fit to keep on their roster through the offseason.
I’m guessing we’re going to do that based on the simplicity and foolproof nature.
