SDMB Dynasty League: Year One

Stewart is 25th in scoring at his position. In a 2 RB, 12-team league with a flex option he certainly should be starting for someone.

ETA: If you wanted to get rid of Stewart that bad I’d have given you a lot more than one third of a middle tier defense for him!

ETAA: You don’t think Stewart is worth keeping over Sammie Stroughter, Nate Davis, Cornelius Ingram, Matt Moore, Kevin Kolb and one of your three defenses???

Fair enough, though if you were looking to unload Henderson or (especially) Stewart you could’ve gotten a better deal from me. (And I’m all about counter-offers and *very *long-winded explanations of why I’m proposing or rejecting a trade.)
You’re absolutely right that any uncertainty about the number of potential keepers is a big problem for people looking to make trades as we wind down the regular season. Therefore, I’m going to short-circuit the debate and declare by fiat that, in the upcoming draft, teams can keep as many of their players as they want. Any discussion about modifying the procedure for *subsequent *drafts is absolutely encouraged, and I promise that there will be an opportunity to put any such proposal to a vote prior to the start of next season. For now, however, we need to know how the next draft is going to work, and “keep whomever you want” has been the default assumption to this point, with relatively little objection.

I agree with the basic logic that Arizona’s defense has more value than their PPG suggests due to their (fantasy) playoffs matchups. I also think you could get a lot more for the players you’re offering. Or only offered one. Or required something in return.

Playoffs? Playoffs? I’m afraid those are just a formality, bub. Trophy’s at the engravers already, and they’re practicing writing my name in script.

Also, furt, I know it must really suck to have other league members advocating for the blocking of your trade, but look on the bright side: if it does get voted down, you’re going to be inundated with (probably better) offers for Stewart and Henderson.

There will be no maximum number of keepers in the next draft, but should there be a minimum? **Beef **suggested a few weeks ago that a minimum was unnecessary – if a team wants to keep 13 players and draft 12, that should be fine. Thoughts?
Personally, I’m inclined to agree. It wouldn’t be any harder to set up, and it would be a (small) boon to parity, effectively giving the teams with the least number of valuable keepers first dibs on what would otherwise be street free agents.

I don’t think there should be a minimum number of keepers. I knew I was gambling at RB with Lewis/Parker. I didn’t think Parker would be as bad and certainly didn’t think Lewis would talk retirement.

I’d vote in favor of this trade because both players want it to go through. This isn’t a money league. I’ve made both good and bad trades. I traded away Joe Mauer in one of my ESPN fantasy baseball leagues for almost nothing because I didn’t think he’d get back to being productive until late in the baseball season. I was wrong. I do think the Arizona D is going to be a top 5 Defense for years to come. Seattle, I doubt it. They’ll probably be dropped at the end of this year.

If someone wants to vote it down so they can make a better offer, that’s fine. But nobody should be whining that they wish they could have had gotten Stewart – I put him up on the Trading Block thing weeks ago and not one person nibbled. Heck, I made a couple trade offers involving him. No takers.

I won’t vote against the trade, it’s not my job to protect owners from themselves.

While I don’t normally feel the league should have a say in trades, this one seems horribly unbalanced.

The trade was vetoed. I submitted a new one. I trade Arizona D for Seattle D and Stewart.

I think that one’s unbalanced, too - to my mind, Stewart is worth a lot more than Henderson - but not egregiously so.

Rosters needing adjustment: Retrovertigo, fightin quakers, warner’s brothers, NY Fanboys (also needs adjustments in othe leagues)

Still debating Boldin, but I’ve adjusted my roster and right now I am starting Boldin.

So, this is what it’s like to have a crappy fantasy team. I’ve never had to experience this before. Hmm…

And I’m stuck with it. Of all the leagues to suck in…

Quitcherbitchin’. I have the second most point total in the league, have never scored less than 100, and have the only team to break 200 in a week.

And I have a losing record. That’s right, a losing record.

I’ve had 3 loses where I scored in the 120’s, and 2 loses by less than 3 points.

I don’t wanna hear your whining. You must listen to mine!

I didn’t say anything was unfair, just that I have a crappy team, so that’s not really whining. It’s not like I scored a ton of points but had a tough schedule… I just drafted a crappy team. It does have youth and some upside, but… not that much.

On the bright side, Hamlet, you’re only a game out of the wild card and you’re likely to win more games going forward than anyone but me.

ETA: I just sent out three trade offers for middling tight ends, so if you’ve got one you’d like to unload and I didn’t make you an offer, try me.

Well listen to my bitchin’. I lost by 7 motherfucking 10ths of a point this week. If I won, I’d have moved into the wild card slot. Now, I’m 7th.

But at 4-5, I’m still in it. The last three weeks will be very interesting.

Check your offers.
