Not so private as all that. I think last year I e-mailed those who’d indicated an interest in posts here, then opened it up to anyone who was interested. The exact mechanism will be up to the commish, but will probably go something like that. He may contact last year’s participants first to give them first shot, but as I say, we had empty slots so it wasn’t really an issue.

I’ve taken a few years off of fantasy sports, because I could never find the time to keep up with them. I’ll probably start fading away after awhile, but I’ll give this a try. I don’t believe I’ve ever played the Doper league, though. This might be fun.
First off, Dave - that’s hilarious. And they’re all full, dammit!
Secondly, who wants to go balls-to-the-wall crazy and try to get a seperate 24 team league going, or even a full 30 teams? I’m not sure what the max is on Yahoo, though.

Well, sunuvabitch, that was my 501 post, and I don’t even remember what my 500th post was. I was doing a real good job of paying attention to that, too, and I missed it. Damn! Well, anyway, I’m halfway to 1,000 now, after being here since damn near the dawn of time.
I’m definately interested in joining, been playing in Yahoo leagues since 1999, won a couple of times along the way too. I just hope I can rebound after a very poor showing last year in all of my leagues.

Time to come out of hibernation - missed this thread for the last two weeks.
I’m definitely interested in being in again - last year was a blast (not solely since I somehow managed to finish second). My availability for drafts is pretty wide open after 6pm EST weekdays.
I’m at an incredibly nutty time at work right now, so I wouldn’t be able to contribute much to discussions about league settings, etc. But rackensack or Munch, whichever of you is going to commish the league, just drop me an e-mail and I’ll join up.
How in the WORLD did I miss this the first time around? I’m definitely interested in stealing as many Sox as possible from WL . I think a 24 or 30 team league would be pretty crazy… I don’t think I’ve ever done one larger than 12 or so.

I’m pretty sure 20 is Yahoo’s max. I played in a 16 team league last year; it takes a little bit of adjustment to innings pitched because the the pitching is thinner – we went with 1000 IP while keeping the standard 2 SP, 2RP, 3P slots. It worked out pretty well.
I’d love to have another go at 16 teams (or to try 20), but to get that deep into the player pool it makes senses to me to stick with the traditional 5x5 or 4x4 categories. Otherwise, having a competitive team quickly begins to take a lot of time.
Can we do head-to-head scoring? I’ve really grown fond of that style of playing.
The new fantasy season has begun. It appears that a bunch of people have already signed up because all of the sunday draft times are gone. They have made a couple changes that I like. There now have a list of undropable players, so that will prevent dumping. Which is good.
I have noticed in the last couple years that they will open up more draft times after what is initially posted are nearly full. So probably in another week or two, there will be more choice draft times available.
I’d love to join. Usually join 3 or 4 of every sport on yahoo and sandbox, although sandbox not so much recently. Email me if you have room if not good luck to all and go expos, I’ll miss you next year
Yup, draft times are scarce. In fact, they’re pathetic. I think they’re using all the weekend and evening times for the money leagues, which makes sense.
In the interest of time, I grabbed a 1:45 EST time on March 12 (Fri.). If anyone wants to start another league and reserve another time frame, that’d be great as well. We can determine later which of our times would be the best to draft on.
They always do this. As soon as most of these times are gone, more will open up and you can have just about any draft time you want. Just keep checking back. I think it usually takes a week or so.

I suppose there are thousands of other jackasses like myself hoarding all the times. I also looked at the PLUS leagues - they’re the ones getting the evening and weekend times. Bastards.
However, PLUS custom leagues are $125 for up to 20 teams. That’s ~$6 a team, and we can draft whenever we want. And we get all the goodies associated with it.
How does this work? How do you get invited to a league? I’d love to play if there’s room anywhere. Do you need my email?
petelin, all we need is to know what time’s people are available. Everyone’s welcome to join, just as long as they can commit to being active all season. If there’s an ideal time that we’ve registered for, point it out. If there’s a time that absolutely doesn’t work, let us know.
Once we set a time, we’ll post the sign-up info.
