Man.
Sucks that I’m out, but I’ve got to say: As a rookie to FFball, you guys have taught me a lot.
I’ve had a good time.
Thanks! See y’all next year!

Wow. I’d basically written my team off after Sunday, but then Jermichael flippin’ Finley put up 23.4 points on Monday night, giving me a 3 point win and a playoff spot.
I’d also point out that the two highest scoring teams each failed to make the playoffs. What a weird league.
In the last two weeks of the season, I had two winnable matchups. Ones that if I had won, I would’ve made the playoffs as the division champ.
But instead, the opposing TEs decided to have their best games of the year (Gates and Finley) and leave me on the outside looking in.
I’ve learned my lesson, don’t miss the draft. Matt Schaub carried my team because every other draft pick has been a bust. 6-7 is actually kind of impressive.
(15) Calvin Johnson WR
(186) Nate Kaeding K
(215) Bobby Engram WR
(226) Justin Forsett RB
(255) Jabar Gaffney WR
(266) L.J. Smith TE
(295) Daunte Culpepper QB
Wow, Kid_A. I’m very glad to see that was an autodraft. We should sticky your post as a warning to future fantasy players to make the draft! End of year rosters rarely look much like the post-draft results, but that’s painful.
I’m curious as to how closely the final standings reflect draft order - I can’t access the page at work, so I’ll look tonight. I drafted 3rd or 4th (MJD), so that certainly helped, I think.
I think I drafted somewhere in the middle of the pack, and I finished in the middle of the pack. I could have done a better job drafting, and might have finished higher if I had. Big ouch for me was having no worthwhile RBs the last two weeks of the season. Think I actually had negative fantasy points from that roster sport once. Definitely going to put more effort into draft strategy next year.
I am amazed I made the playoffs considering how many of my guys were busts:
(5) Matt Forte (bust)
(196) Robert Meachem (amazing pick at 196)
(205) Kevin Faulk (bust)
(236) Byron Leftwich (bust)
(245) Laurent Robinson (IR)
(276) Washington (not bad)
(285) Lawrence Tynes (not bad)
Draft Order. Team - Finish / W-L:
So there isn’t any real correlation between draft order and finish that I can see.
Cobra Kai has managed to have the unlikeliest season ever. Snuck into the playoffs as the #4 seed despite being 14th in points (after winning all his games by an average margin of .000000001 point) and then turned on the burners during the playoffs and crushed people. Now he’s in the championship game. Can Donte’s Torino stop him?
Edit: Forgot to mention he somehow snagged Adrian Peterson with the #3 pick. #3!
Team of some weird ass destiny.
Well, I beat him in the regular season, but then again I lost to Fightin’ Quakers in the regular season. Looking back at my schedule, I’m only 2-3 against playoff teams. That’s countered by being 7-1 vs nonplayoff teams.
We have our results. Donte’s Torino (Taber) is our champion
Our final standings:
It was a fun season and an interesting league. I’m sure we’ll run this again next year.
I had a great time in this league. I’m really pleased with finishing first in the regular season, finishing within ~15 points of the top scorer. My playoff performance left much to be desired, but I cannot complain. Looking forward to next year.
My performance is proof positive that autodrafting is definitely a crapshoot.
But I’m looking forward to next year. I’m already developing my draft strategy.
Yeah, I really enjoyed the league. Finished in the middle of the pack, but I was in the playoff hunt until the last game. Definitely need to put more effort into the draft next year.
I hate to bring this up, but apparently there’s been a score correction on the championship game that pushed Cobra Kai over me, so he finished first. The unlikeliest season continues
What the hell!?!?!?!?
What was the pre-correction gap in scores?
FFS, he just won the championship by half a point based on a correction. I have never seen anything like the season he had.
I was up .5 before the correction, I think. I’m pretty sure my score is the same, so he must have gotten a point somewhere
Bizarre… if anyone finds out what changed, I’d be interested to find out what swung the championship.
I have no clue, looking over things. Really, I want no part of this championship: I autodrafted, and made some low-brow moves during the playoffs (like stealing away all the available starting QBs when I noticedm y first round opponent in the playoffs was out of 'em).
At least my team name aptly describes my Fantasy morals.
