I thought you had made a mistake and put Cobra Kai on the wrong place on the points against list, since he has a great record yet is 15th in scoring.
But no, you’re right.
He’s had 1258 points scored against him, and only scored 1083 himself, but got an 8-4 record in the process. Crazy.
His 8 wins have the following win margin:
1: 6.54
3: 1.71
5: 1.25
6: 0.57
7: 0.49
8: 10.73
10: 7.65
12: 5.77
Average winning margin of 4.3 points. And in his average game he got outscored by 15 points. But an 8-4 record. That is some crazy luck.
Is it shady to play no DEF/ST in a league like this? I have Washington against NO and I can just smell negative points from Washington this week.
I would usually pick up a defense off the wire but with only Oakland, Cleveland, KC, etc. available I don’t really have many options.
I’d do it. You picked up that defense because you had a reasonable expectation to get points out of them. They’ve been pretty disappointing - but they’re playing the top offense in the NFL, a team that has hung quite a few negative totals on other defenses in this league.
If I was at home, I’d try to pull the data for what offenses are giving up the most points to our fantasy defenses in this league. I’d think that any defense going up against NO wouldn’t fare well.
Not so, I have a better divisional record than them, which I believe is the tie breaker for the division.
I did the same thing week 8, with Atl vs NO. Atl somehow got 10 points.
Ah, indeed. Too bad we didn’t set up a custom schedule to make sure everyone plays the same amount of divisional games. My division will have everyone playing 3 divisional games rather than all 4 other teams.

Well, it would have been karma had I gotten into the playoffs, but tie breakers will be my end. I’m strangely satisfied with 7-6 though, given that my second round pick was hurt for the last four and a half games, my third round pick lost his job, and my fifth round pick went on IR three weeks ago.
Ha. In my money league, the highest scorer will be finishing LAST.
The universe intervening supernaturally into reality to alter the outcome of football games in order to affect one particular fantasy football league out of millions in order to punish someone from a friendly taunt directed at his primary competitor is definitely the most reasonable explanation here.

Wow, the two top point-scorers both missed the playoffs.
I ended up 17th in points scored, and 17th in the standings. Not exactly great, but better than i might have expected after starting 1-6. I’ve never played in a league this big before, and i think i now have a better sense of how to draft for a league like this. I’m looking forward to next year.

You mean other than teams 9-16 making the consolation round?
I don’t think that’s how it works - I think the consolation round is for the teams that lose this week.
I kinda wish there was a secondary consolation bracket just to keep things more interesting for the non-playoff teams.
Oh well, I guess to be entertained at this point in the year, you have to earn your way into the playoffs. Say, by leading the league in scoring. WAIT!

I’d like my chances in the playoffs a lot better if I hadn’t lost my 3rd and 4th round picks mid-season. I get Bowe back in two weeks, but I’d much rather have Washington on my roster.
