I remember that happening at least and I’m pretty sure we just let it go because whoever it was was ready for their pick and non-rookies don’t usually matter until like the third round anyway.
It did happen once, and the person (Omni?) wasn’t picking until the back half of the round, so we started the draft on time since it was unlikely we would catch up to their spot in the draft. I think we can reasonably assume everyone in the league will cut enough players to have a first round pick every year. I don’t know what we would do if we got to his position in the draft and he hadn’t checked in to give us a pre-rank or anything. I do think we should start on time though
Double checking our draft order, and I wanted to make sure these things were noted. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on these:
I count your roster as having 24 before cuts, so cutting 4 gives you 5 picks.
I think this got copy pasted on accident. I count you with 29 and 6 cuts, so 23 players and 2 picks.
Hey all, apologies for the late response. I’ve been on a 10 day fire rotation with little extra time and almost zero cell coverage. I’m heading home now and will have my cuts in by 0700 PST tomorrow Monday. Thanks for the patience.
No problem.
You know, I’ve never really done the normal rebuild cycle. I’ve been very flat in how I’ve managed my team, almost never selling off and investing in future years when I’m having a bad spot, nor selling out future value for a championship run. I’ve been thinking I have a good chance to repeat this year and I should consider trading away for some aging but still very productive players to make a run but it doesn’t feel right to me.
You’re right. After Big Ben retired they removed him from my lineup completely and I didn’t even notice. OK, so five picks for me.
It’s impossible to know how biased or unbiased I am. That’s the thing with bias I guess.
When negotiating the trade Kmet wasn’t really a factor. It was basically Etienne for Andrews, but I needed a TE since Andrews was my only one capable of starting for a fantasy team. It was pure coincidence that he happened to have the Bears’ sophomore as the give back. I probably could have pushed for Hockenson but this was a youth movement, so the younger guy made more sense.
Certainly I’ve watched a lot of Kmet and I think he has massive upside, but with TEs it’s like 75% situation and 25% talent. Even the most elite TE will take a huge hit on a team with a dysfunctional offense geared towards gadget plays and that needs the TE to help a porous offensive line. Who knows what the this new offense is gonna look like but there is reason to think Kmet will show out if you put value in the preseason.

@Hamlet is on the clock with pick 1.01
I can’t remember, do we enter our on keepers or does the commish enter them?
Traditionally the commish does and we check our own teams afterwards.
Wow.
(discourse sucks; requires at least five characters)
1.01 Breece Hall, RB, NYJ.
PM to Ellis Dee sent.
Jerk!
That’s okay, all things being equal I actually prefer going with non-NY guys. All things aren’t equal here, but close enough. I’ll take the Seattle guy despite the hernia.
1.01 Hamlet - Breece Hall, RB, NYJ
1.02 Ellis - Kenneth Walker III, RB, Sea
1.03 Justin -
1.04 Omni -
1.05 Gaffer -
1.06 dale -
1.07 Retro -
1.08 Justin -
1.09 Ellis -
1.10 RNATB -
1.11 Hamlet -
1.12 Beef -
PM sent to Justin.
He’s constantly being compared to Mike Evans, so I had to take him.
1.03 Drake London, WR, ATL
@Omniscient is on the clock.
Oh that’s right, we realized we only had to @ the next person, no PM necessary. Totally spaced that.
I don’t like this draft spot…feels like there was a big dropoff here and there’s a mush of guys with uncertain situations. Not confident in this pick. Anyone want to make me an offer to move up?
I’ll have an announcement one way or another by 5:30 CT…
Historically the commish basically back-fills the draft with our keepers so we can use the Yahoo player search to figure out who’s available (especially useful for non-rookies and cut players).
