I added $40 to the FAAB for both **dale **and Stringer. As I said before, my personal preference was for sandwich picks next year, but it’s the kind of proposal that, IMO, has to be dropped in the face of any significant objections. If we had some in favor and some “meh” votes I would have gone ahead with it, but we had some real resistance.
You mean dale and RetroVeritgo? Stringer doesn’t need any help with his team this year.
Yes, sorry, dale and Retro. I got it right on the league page, fortunately.
To change topics: holy shit, Ryan Grant is done for the year. This is mostly notable (to me) because I have Brandon Jackson in 3 of my 4 fantasy leagues (including this one). I don’t even really like the guy, I just happened to wind up with him.
Remember to get waiver claims in. I think they get processed Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at midnight, but I’m not 100% sure. FAAB is a silent auction system - you put in a claim (by finding the player and clicking the add button) with a bid amount, and if you have the highest bid, that’s subtracted from your year-long total and you get the player.
Yeah, that’s really fucking great for you.
[sub]It’s also fucking “notable” to the guy who fucking owns him. Grumble Grumble. Rassin’ Frassin’, how many ways can I be screwed in that damn league.[/sub]
Clean up in Aisle 3!
I accidently clicked on the wrong button on a trade with VarlosZ. I didn’t mean to accept it, I wanted to reject it. Can commish clean that up for me?
No, nope, Nuh-uh. Wouldn’t be fair.
Oh, all right. Does anyone know a way that I can cancel the trade, or is easier just to wait for it to go through and then manually reverse it?
If we all vote against it it should get blocked, right?
Ideally.
Thanks VarlosZ. You’re a gentlemen and a scholar. And some other things too, I’m sure, because being just a gentlemen and a scholar would be kinda boring.
I’m not sure how trades get vetoes or not. Worse case scenario, we can just trade the players back again. Thanks again.
Of course. I actually did the same thing once. Your brain just gets crossed up, sees the affirmative response button, and momentarily thinks, “YES, I want to reject this dumb trade.”
I built my team for the future and the future came early.
Worst to first.
I honestly can’t believe it. But good on you for seeing potential in players the rest of us passed on.
Speaking of the future, what’s the league consensus on trading next year’s draft picks? I’ll give my first and second round picks up for a top shelf RB or WR. This year I picked ninth, but who knows what my draft position will look like next year.
Fine by me, so long as it’s for the upcoming draft only and you make a commitment to stay in the league next year, but we’ll have to see what others think.
Easy, tiger. To be the man, you’ve got to beat the m… oh, shit.
Oh, I’m sure I’m getting ahead of myself. I get wildly overconfident at the first sign of success and I’ve only had a decent game and a really good one. Still, I think my roster was way better than 12th place last year and underachieved. It’s good to know McCoy doesn’t appear to be a bust.
Fine with me. I don’t think there’s much risk someone is going to dump their picks and leave the league.
I’m strongly against trading of future draft picks for a variety of reasons.
Could you elaborate on those reasons?
Demarius Thomas put up 8/97/1 in his first start after being gimped. Pretty promising.
Looks like I’ll get my first win this week. Phew.
Crap, I’m gonna need 15 points from Michael Crabtree tomorrow. Doable, but unlikely. I was so happy last year when I drafted Matt Ryan — young, fantastic rookie year, good WR1. Unfortunately, he’s a better real-world QB than fantasy QB. Had a big today today, by unless this becomes the norm my franchise is in trouble. (Also, it would be nice if Larry Fitzegald and Calvin Johnson got back on track.)
