I owned Moats, Brown and Foster last year just hoping one of them would hit. Thank god Ben Tate got hurt.
Trade
We Do HGH sends Matt Forte to The Gusterrhoids for Mike Vick.
At the time of his injury, the Texans still planned to give Ben Tate a shot at the starting job next year. Unluckily for me, Foster has turned into a complete stud.
Between Golden Tate going down, Jimmy Clausen turning into a mega bust and Ben Tate getting injured and then steamrolled by Foster in the depth chart, my draft this year was a complete fiasco.
I get to take on Hamlet after a 5 week winning streak to see who leads in the wild card race. Whee.
Between Tamme and Gonzo I may end up going double TE instead of Randy Moss, who’s a gamble.
Incidentally if you’re high on Tamme’s dynasty value (Dallas Clark will be 32? next year), I’d probably be willing to part with him for a running back, since I have Gonzo this year and I’ll have Finley back next year. I don’t know if he’ll be the next Dallas Clark for years to come, but he’s young and getting targetted roughly 700 times per game. Not sure how good a running back I’d need in return, gotta think about it.
If he does become Clark and I keep him, I’m going to rule this league for the next decade with the deadliest double TE combo ever!
Derek Anderson went for $58 on waivers! This leaves me without a starter unless Carolina goes with Tony Pike.
With Stafford likely done for the season and Hasselback out with a concussion last week, I needed a fill in QB for Rivers. I haven’t made many moves, so I figured I blow a big chunk of my money now.
LOL, I had Matt Moore as my backup for Brees this week. I bid $52 for Anderson.
I don’t feel so bad spending the $58 then.
OK, I was at least able to find Kitna on the waiver wire. This reminds me of last year when I had Brees on bye and was forced to start JaMarcus Russell. I think I ended up with negative 5 fantasy points from the QB slot that week!
Phew. I was reading this thread and physically restraining myself from typing, “pick up Kitna, you wanker!”
Now I don’t feel so bad about spending $36 on Jason Campbell last week…
We all need to rethink our FAAB strategy when guys like Ryan Torain, LaGarrette Blount, and Lance Moore are going for like $9 and Campbell and Anderson are going for several times that.

Good advice to the other players is not welcome.
I just posted this in the leagues I run. I suggest we adopt a similar rule if we don’t already (can’t remember):
Also, I’ll remind everyone of how we handle the players from Thursday night games in regard to the waiver wire. Yahoo automatically puts all players on waivers from Sunday at 1pm until Tuesday night, to give everyone a shot at grabbing breakout free agents. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a waiver option for “put player on waivers at the start of their game”, which means that Thursday night players will be up for grabs after Thursday.
So we have a rule in place: you cannot pick up a player involved in a Thursday night game as a free agent after the game starts. If you’re interested in one of those players, wait until the Sunday at 1pm waiver period (where all players, including the ones from the Thursday night game go on waivers) and put a claim in for him then.
So, for example, if Ray Rice goes down tonight because he is cleaved in twain by an Atlanta defender, you don’t pick up McClain or McGahee as a free agent tonight - you wait until the Sunday-Tuesday waiver period and put in a bid then. Anyone who jumps the gun on this will have it reverted.
That’s fine with me.
Agreed. I’ll make a note of it on the league page. In the meantime, this is the sort of thing I would tend not to notice, so keep an eye out and give me a heads up if it happens.
No problem. I do this for all players in the keeper league; it’s really not difficult.
Forgot to post this until now.

Interesting to see that Ellis Dee and I have rosters near the bottom again this year, but our starters/starting decisions were enough to keep us competitive in the points race.
I accidentally posted week 8 data instead of week 9.
