Sdmb mafia

If we make a mistake today, two things will happen. Game over, or we really are in LyLo.

Today is the absolute last chance we have to confirm Hal. It is absolutely worth discussing. Tomorrow is the day for blind trust.

Hal didn’t get bother to protect me, but as soon as Pleo started gaining votes Hal popped in to claim. Who was the only person who could validate Hal? Pleo.

The gambit works too because if scum Pleo get lynched first than Hal and I are next. I’m town, and my death would either counter Hal’s death, or keep him alive. Total Lost is already breadcrumbing that Hal could be crazy.

Why doesn’t anyone else see this?!

I do, and though I don’t totally trust you, this is the same read I got independently.

To continue my football metaphor, we can’t run a draw play on 4th and forever with no time left on the clock.

EXPLANATION: A draw play is a run that looks like a pass at first. Useful in situations where the defense may be expecting a pass for some yards, but not when you need big action to stay in the game.

I see it crystal clear, but nobody believes a word I say anymore :smack:

Dangit dangit dangit.

I’m about to go on a conference call, and I’m headed out tonight, I don’t know when I’ll get back, so this will be my last post for a bit.

To continue the football metaphor, right now we’re down 7 with 8 seconds and no timeouts. Ya’ll are proposing that we call a play with a lesser chance of scoring in order to set up the touchdown, but you’re missing the fact that if this play doesn’t score, there probably won’t be another one.

Look, if you all think Pleo (and Hal, by extension) is scum, make a case for it. Show me that he’s scummier than Zsofia, or hell, even scummier than TL, since that appears to be where we’re going anyway, and I’ll be happy to switch votes. Right now I don’t see it.

If you DON’T think he’s the scummiest, I don’t see where you’ve got any business proposing that we lynch him.

Oh, a bit of time!

Since BlaM figured it, I might as well give the Town full information. I am Liquid Monk, a Moderator aka Vigilante. I have a coffee mug to prove it, but that might just be color text. I’ve banned the following players:Night One, peekercpa, because I think his play style is counter productive.
Night Two, Nanook of the North Shore, for being an obvious troll.
Night Three, Santo Rugger, because I didn’t believe his claim enough to counter his suspicious voting.
Night Four, Fretful Porpentine, because I thought she was the must scummy at the time. Yes, I give little weight to claims of unverifiable, pro-Town roles with no powers.Sorry to the Townies I whacked! But I did think you were Scum.

Not a good record, but there it is. If you’re wondering who I’ll target next, look at my list of suspicion. I will not name a target, in case the Scum have a protective ability of any sort.

I am fairly confident that there are five Scum. Four would be unfair to them. We are at lynch or lose now. Lynching me will end the game. The Scum will kill me ToNight because I am their biggest threat. Do not protect me, if it means I can’t kill. A successful kill will move us out of lynch or lose. If you don’t belief me now, my death will confirm it.

Hal needs to investigate one of the remaining unknowns, whichever seems most Townie to you. If you can confirm a Townie before you die, we can lynch without losing. Zsofia needs to keep protecting amrussell or herself, if possible.

About Darth, he’s looking like a returning Sock Puppet of peekercpa, based on posting style.

What the heck? It is a valid point, worth discussing.

The conditions of the claim are suspicious. You say we are at LyLo. If so, why aren’t you wondering why Hal didn’t clear me when I was in the lead at overtime? It seems weird that we have a PFK doctor, and a real doctor, and a real admin, and a “wannabe” admin. Further, the admin died the night Hal claimed to investigate him. None of this stuff is setting off your scumdar?

If we aren’t in LyLo than scum know this and want to force us there.

unvote Total Lost

Something doesn’t feel right.

:::sigh:::

I took up the explanation thing as a joke, because they amuse me, and it looks like we have a snowballs chance of pulling this one out, and I’m not that invested, so I’m gonna have more fun than I normally do.

And so **pleo **is ‘fluid druid’. Sigh. I still think that **Hal **is scummy as hell. And I’m not seeing “downscow”

Pleo, if you are telling the truth would you like to explain how we can win this game?

Oh, pleo compulsory, or just a way too itchy trigger finger?

Well, I’m inclined to believe Pleo now.

If he isn’t compulsory, than can’t we just do a “no lynch”? That puts us at 6-5 tomorrow. If Hal gets a scum read, we lynch that person. If Hal gets a townie, than the rest of the unconfirmed players are scum.

Any flaws?

Better to not discuss the details at this point.

We win by banning the five scum hiding among ok, Squid, Rapier, Shadow, BlaM, Total.

We’re at 7 vs 5 right now. A successful lynch will put us at 6-4, including the Scum’s Night kill, still lynch or lose. If I successfully ban Scum, we’ll be 6-3, with a spare lynch. At that point, depending on who the Scum Night kill and who Hal has info on, we can either lynch for information/confirmation, or knock off another Scum.

On preview, we can’t not lynch. We need the information. The Scum will then kill Hal and we’ll be still at lynch or lose.

“downscow” = Down’s Cow

Retard Moo is an anagram of Moderator. My investigation nets me a role, not a player name.

If we get it wrong we lose.

If we no lynch right now, than tomorrow the score is 6-5. Hal will have have investigated one of the six. If he hits town, than the rest are all scum. If he hits scum, than we lynch that person.

Why doesn’t that work?

You’re assuming that Zsofia is town.

I don’t want the Day to end without a vote on the record. I’m going back to voting for Total Lost, because I’m really pressed for time (I have to leave in a few minutes, and won’t be back for a while) and don’t have any better ideas. Luckily, if Pleonast’s list is right, it doesn’t matter whom I choose anyway.

Vote Total Lost

Many of my theories toDay were wrong, but it still makes sense that at least one scum would make a throwaway vote, and on Day 3 that scum that only leaves Total. From your POV it leaves me and Total, but I know I’m not scum.

I’d also like to repeat a question I asked earlier toDay. Squid, why didn’t you vote yesterDay? It’s not like you weren’t around. You made some posts at the start of the Day, and you had a post close to Day-end.

I figured it had something to do with the role name. Dang - that’s a good un. You can still be a scum investigator or just colluding, but it gives me pause.

I gotta say, I have absolutely no idea what to do at this point. I am completely flummoxed :frowning:

The day began with a surprise.

Tramping into the arena with the warriors girding themselves for a fifth round of battle for the Dope was a fresh face. One Darth Sensitive joined them as if he had every right to be there, carrying a large pack on his back.

Even as discussion was joined and Darth jumped in with both feet, he was unpacking the contents of his haversack. He had, when he came in, brought not pie, but the one and only working model of the

ACME PIE CONSTRUCTOR.

In between contributing to the discussion, the Constructor made a whole range of mouthwatering pies from a store of simple ingredients, setting flavour, consistency of crust and filling, temperature and size with the machine’s simple to understand controls.

The debate, meanwhile, started slowly. Perhaps because of the certainty of the extra time the hardware guys had wrung out of the server, things were a bit muted. By the 72 hour mark, accusations were flying thick and fast. At various points Zsofia, Hero from Sector 7G and Pleonast looked like possible candidates for banning; but the day wore on and still the servers continued to function.

The sudden crash took everyone by surprise, coming as it did in a lull from the hectic debate that had raged. Total Lost was at the Pie Constructor at the time, still arguing that she was a simple Townsperson. Just as she was setting the size controls for her extra-thick triple-choc cream pie (made with the heavy cream) the lights went out, messing up her size selection (she went from a 1’ diameter to the largest, SuperExtraLarge, size.

Being a little distracted by her position as the banning choice of the majority of people with a preference, she failed to notice that she had set the machine up to produce the pie with the crust upwards.

WHOOOOM!

When vision was restored, the pie lay where it had been produced, and everyone was picking themselves up and looking in awe at the pie, almost as high as the average man, and twice that in diameter. It took a minute or so to realise that TotalLost could not be seen, By the time that they remembered she had been at the Pie Constructor and worked together to lift the pie up, Total Lost had been drowned by her own pie.

Total Lost, aka Legion Demon, a Member of the SDMB (Town), has met a messy fate.

Night starts now.

You have until 11pm EST to wind up any strategy comments that you want to make Today. Night will run until 9pm on Friday 5th December.

Total Lost, feel free to ask for spoiler access if you wish it. The same goes for any other dead player or spectator who wants to know.

Hats off to you, scum! This could be the first shut-out in SDMB Mafia history.

I’m embarrassed by how badly we’re being manipulated.

:dubious:

Brag much, Shadow?

So… if the vig actually gets scum, but is gotten by them, where does that leave us?
