Is anyone else having trouble bookmarking the Nov competition thread? The thread claims to be bookmarked at the bottom of the thread, but it is nowhere to be found in my list of bookmarks. I can bookmark random other threads and they behave normally.
Welp, a first perusal of my photo archives has turned up…a whole lotta nothing.
May have to go out and find something to shoot.

My wife’s aunt is in hospice care and we were told she only has a few days left. I was in the neighborhood (she’s 90 miles from us) so I stopped in to visit for a few hours. She was in her wheelchair and wanted to go for a walk, and when we passed an entry door she said she wanted to go outside. We walked and explored, and the fresh air and new scenery was cheering her up. At one spot I found a vantage point where she could look at the far off, distant hills. She perked right up.

OK, so maybe imgur isn’t visible in the UK… but imgbb isn’t visible, well, pretty much anywhere. At best, it seems to take like five minutes to load a picture. At worst, like right now, it just plain never loads it.
I’m using Shutterfly. Yes, it’s a retail site but uploading photos to their own section is easy. I’m just using it for photos I post here. I already had an old account so I’m not sure you have to make one. And I haven’t gotten any emails or anything else annoying from them as a member.

- Double click to open photo
- Right click to open image in new tab
- Copy image link
That didn’t actually work the way I said. I tried to post a photo but I had to extract the link from a whole lot of junk to get it to show up. While I was trying to figure out, the edit time expired. There is a way. I used it last month for the contest. I’ll try to figure it out. Damn, this shouldn’t’ be so complicated!
From Shutterfly, using Chrome browser:
- Double click on the image so the image is on display.
- Right-click on the image and select “Copy Image Address” from the menu.
- Paste it into you edit window on its own line. (I’m using the original editor mode.)

Same here. I was hoping others are doing better. I’ve had to give up on the current photo posting thread because I can’t see much of anything posted.
Same with me, at least on an iPhone/Safari.
It seems to me that if this forum really wants to hold a regular series of photo contests, then it needs to allow photos to be hosted on its own server, and not depend on the vicissitudes of third-party hosts.
“This forum” is not one entity. @Mean_Mr.Mustard wants to hold a regular series of photo contests. Chicago Public Radio, or whoever our current owner is, does not want the site to host user-posted pictures.
