SDMB RPG Setup Thread

Well, that’s cool! I am going to try another sneak attack then

Hi, I’d like to be considered for a possible futire replacment spot. I need to think of a character. I was thinking a type of sorcerer/monk but those classes area lready accounted for.

I’ll be looking at either a Dwarf fighter or Elf Fighter/mage, probably.

We do need someone who can soak up the aggro, but overall I like how this party is shaping up. I do hope the PC with 2 HP’s doesn’t die in this very first battle tho…

yeah, so am I.

[Next round I’ll see what I can do…]

Constructs too.

That’s the initiative order, not the HP totals ! :stuck_out_tongue:

My mistake, constructs are immune to ability & nonlethal damage (and massive trauma), but not precision damage. Learn something every day.

:smack: I thought something didn’t compute, but as I keeping reminding everyone, “it’s my first day”

Yes! Sorry if that was unclear. You folks did a nice job rolling toward the outside of the initiative range.

You bet. I’ll let you know if something opens up.

I’m assuming that I have a modest stock of CLW potions, and I can easily make more provided there is a steady drip of gold coming in. It’s not much, but handy for those times when you need a d8 + 1 hit points in a hurry.

I’ll also throw my hat into the ring as a replacement.

I was thinking something along the lines of a fallen Knight Templar. Not so much that he fell, but he saw the corruption among them and realized that the organization wasn’t what he thought it was (or more to the point what they claimed to be), so he left to strike out on his own as a soldier-of-fortune.

appleciders, any reason why the next round hasn’t processed yet? Glitches or real life intruding on your end? No pressure, just a bit concerned, I expected the pace of play to go quicker than it has so far…

Not every player has.posted.what they are doing.

Will there be reminders, then? In our Diplomacy games here we would simply have a country go into what is called Civil Disorder when they failed to get in moves by the deadline, in which case their units defaulted to Hold orders. Should something similar be at work here-the PC would simply default to defending himself physically (per a prior default set of orders-“If attacked I will employ my shield and mace to defend myself”) against any attacks, but would otherwise perform no action that turn?

We’ve got a ton of players, so there’s going to be a certain amount of downtime between posts. Also, it’s a long holiday weekend.

Mostly, I’m sitting here watching football with family instead of running the game!

I’m going to finish off this last round of combat tonight. That said, it’s really helpful for me if folks can post even just a “Carry on” order, so that I know that they don’t want any changes for their character, and that they have actually seen the thread.

This is also a good opportunity to talk about standing orders for characters. For instance, both Aji and Harald have noted that they want Power Attacks as standard unless otherwise specified, and Solsken’s falcon won’t engage except in dire need, and then only hit-and-run. Does anyone else have any standing orders or defaults they’d like to declare?

Hoopy Frood, consider yourself in line. There are lots of good opportunities in the various Holy Orders for good roleplaying.

Malacandra, it seems that Zachary would certainly have CLW potions for sale, but that’s a fairly expensive item to stock in quantity if you don’t have a large clientele of high-level characters. Shall we say that he’s got four in stock?

Unless otherwise specified, Joseph will use his whip to either try and trip opponents (favoring whomever the rogue is engaged with to facilitate precision attacks) or else using dazzling display to keep enemies demoralized.
