Ok. You didn’t retcon any feats, right? I just added a whip to your inventory.
I’m changing the weapon focus to whip, which I need to do in order to be able to use dazzling display with the whip.
Got it.
I’m confused about something, I thought we could see the elf fighter once we entered the palazzo? What am I missing?
No, Solsken’s bird saw him on an upper floor.
ok got it. I just reread the the thread, we’re taking a staircase up. My bad.
Seeing Aji’s crazy acrobatic charge through a bunch of minions paired with Harald’s crazy munchkin tendencies reminds me of a monk I once played whose purpose was primarily spellcaster nullification. Combining Improved Trip, Dodge, Mobility, Vow of Poverty, and Defensive throw, when he designated his dodge bonus, he got up to something like 26 AC (at eighth level!) against attacks of opportunity made against him, and every time an attack was made against him, he got a free trip opportunity against that enemy. It got to the point where his main method of attack was to run around the enemy group deliberately provoking attacks of opportunity. Most rounds, he did more damage on his move action than his standard action.
He would have been kind of underpowered at higher levels, but at low levels, he was a holy terror against casters. Enemy front lines couldn’t block him, and once he tripped them all on his charge through, he tackled the spellcaster and pinned 'em. Great fun.
Also, I just took that 3d6 from the program (which is really versatile; it can calculate lots of temporary bonuses quickly) and I think that’s not correct. Harald’s growth effect increases his size and strength, but it doesn’t actually enlarge his axe, does it? I think you only get 1d12 on that, for a medium size greataxe, rather than 3d6 for a large size greataxe.
Yes it does
That’s half of the point of enlargement (the strength and reach being the other half).
If I really wanted to go the munchkin route, later on I’d take the barbarian rage thingamabob that would let me lower my AC deliberately to get attacks of opportunity on whoever tries to hit me before they even get to roll. With Combat Reflexes, you can do that multiple times per round too (because why not ?). Not sure I’m really going to be *that *silly though, depends on whether the group needs that little push over the cliff it to overcome whatever you’ve got in store ;).
Oh, and if you don’t want to forget the whetstone bonus in the future, I’d suggest just putting a +1 Greataxe in Harald’s inventory for the time being, since what else am I gonna whet ? Should I find an actual +1 weapon later on, then it’ll “really” be +2 in the program and so on.
That whetstone is pretty boss, is what I’m saying
Time to go town to town hawking our patented Harald Ragnarsson delivery system. Guaranteed to lay waste to your enemies or your money back.
That Solid Note is a really versatile spell, I have to say. Anything from a tripwire to a handhold on a wall, yours for only a first level spell, and bards don’t even have to prepare spells. I predict you’ll be using that every adventure for a long time to come.
Yeah, and I wouldn’t have found it if not for that PCGen program, since I didn’t know initially that the advanced book had new spells in it.
Sorry for upsetting your best-laid plans, but only a little.
At the risk of making the most unpopular opinion post ever in a message board rpg…
Did anyone else feel a bit sorry for that first troll?
What? You mean the sleep-screaming female troll? Writhing impotently in agony?
No. Why do you ask?
ETA: since when do the smilies have color?
Apple, can you post a run-down of what gear/provisions we have heading out of Genoa?
Since we’re traveling I’m switching to linen clothing instead of the silk robes. I want to keep wearing the jewels and brass dragon’s tooth.
You’ve got the same things going out of the city that you had going into it, save that the Doge lent you each a horse and Zachary hasn’t brought his cart. You didn’t stop to provision, but that 500 gold will buy you basic provisions from any city, town, or hamlet you pass through.
Thought you might like to see a funny game of D&D from Community. I don’t usually watch the show, but a D&D-loving friend sent me the link:
Thought I’d stop posting asides in the play thread.
How close are we to leveling up? Not really concerned about points per se, but with Joseph gone we may need to adjust our skills.
More than halfway to next level.
