SDMB userid help

It appears that I’ve created 2 userids on SDMB. Now whenever I go here, I keep getting a popup asking me to select “which userid I’d like to use”. This is something that has started relatively recently, since I’ve not created a userid recently. I’d like to delete one of these userid’s and thus not be prompted everytime a switch while browsing a thread. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop this annoyance? Is there a setting that I have to set/unset in my browser?

TIA…Milind.

E-mail an administrator as soon as possible, explain your mistake ( in creating two user ids) and ask them to delete your less preferred one.

Tried that 3 days ago, still no reply.

Try e-mailing all of them. There are at least four who are also forum moderators ( TubaDiva, Arnold Winkelried, C K Dexter Haven and Lynn Bodoni) and their e-mail addresses are easily available ( click on their name on the message board front page). If that does not work, you could try contacting a moderator and asking him/her to forward your message.

This thread is better suited for About This Message Board. I’ll move it for you.

Send me an email, tell me both your user names and which one you want to keep.

How did you end up with two names?

You will need to have one of your UserIDs deleted by an Administrator, because that’s our rules. However, this will not stop the pop-up you’re getting. It’s not coming from the SDMB. For Netscape on a Mac, you need to go to Netscape -> Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Passwords. Click on Manage Stored Passwords and delete the UserID that you’re not using. I’m sure it’s similar for a PC. If you’re using IE or some other browser, you’ll just have to poke around.

In IE that would be Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Check “Allow logon using current username and password” (that’s near the bottom of the list).

Thanks. I think that this did it. I figured that it was something in my netscape, but I also wanted to delete one of the userid as well.

Thanks again…

…not to hijack, but welcome to the boards. And is your username perhaps a Buffy reference? ;).
