You’re right! I missed Way Too Happy’s reference!
I’ll 'splain so the rest of the Valentine Dopers don’t think I’m a genius, regardless of The Punkyova’s generous comment. I got the idea from my sister, who sends these all the time, as it is a concept highly adaptable to any occasion.
Take a plastic bottle (I used smallish water bottles). Put into it anything you can shove through the neck. (Note: Hershey kisses are about a millimeter too big, so I had no choice but to eat the whole bag of Valentine kisses.) Pencils, glitter, small candies, seed packets, glow sticks, plastic animals, whatever. Screw the lid on tight, add a mailing label and postage. You’ll pay the non-automated rate for postage, but who cares?
I got tons of cool stuff, thanks everyone! freckafree and Nawth Chucka, I loved both of yours but had to give them up to my daughter.
Punkyova, that put a big grin on my face. I’m very glad it made her happy!
Three more Valentines today! Thanks, everyone, this was a lot of fun!
We’ll have to be sure and do this again next year. I really enjoyed all of my Valentines - more than I expected I would. It was also fun to send things out!
Ooooh, I got my mystery Valentine yesterday - very pretty it is too! As well as an origami heart, which is too cool.
My mailbox had no love for me today.
Withdrawals suck.
For all of you who have thanked me for putting together the lists, it was (yet again*) my pleasure. Thank you to everyone who participated. You rock.
*I promise, that was the last time. I’ve been quite selfish, hogging the V-Day duties in order to capitalize on the SD lurve. Now hiring…
Is anyone going to fess up to the pretty yet anonymous ones sent from Seattle? Bratti, was Bill Gates on our list??
I’d guess Amarinth, who lives up thereabouts.
