SDMB Weight Loss Club, February (08)

Missed a couple of weeks pending re-subscription. As of last Sunday I was 223 pounds, down 20½ from the start of the year. I had one week when I gained 1½, and then one when I lost 3. Below 16st English style for the first time in many years - must be the first time since getting married - despite the routine change.

I weighed in today at 190 pounds. That’s a 1 pound loss since last week and

that’s a lost of 57 pounds since February of last year. And 39 pounds since starting WW.

I have lost one pound of the two I gained on the cruise.

First post here – I need a little feedback on what I’m doing (or should be doing).

So my exercise regimen consists of 1-2 hours per day, 3 days of weight training and 5 or 6 days of cardio every week, with the seventh day off. I generally eat 3 small meals and 2 snacks equally spaced throughout the day. Lots of lean protein, small amounts of carbs (mainly from green leafy vegetables) and small amounts of good fats (olive oil, nuts, avocado, etc). No sugars, high-glycemic carbs, or saturated fats.

And as of this morning, I weigh 170 lbs!

… which is what I weighed starting out 8 weeks ago!

I’d normally assume I’m trading muscle and fat pound for pound, which would be fine. But my vanity photos all look the same, and friends and family don’t notice any difference either.

Any ideas? Trimspa?

This will be my last post in the weight loss threads for quite a while.

Although I need to lose weight now as much as ever, I think I will pursue other ways to motivate me and move my goals forward.

I have not been really participating in the threads for several months and when I do I seem to inadvertently cause offense.

My heart will still be there hoping you all continue to meet your goals, but my posts will not be.

I’m very sorry you feel that way, Khadaji. I know what you’re referring to and feel you were jumped on unfairly when you were only trying to be encouraging. I just wanted you to know that you will be missed in these threads, and that you have been a very valuable member of the group. I wish you all the best in your continued efforts to lose.

Thanks guys. My apologies. I was feeling all whiny this morning, since I’m pissed at my boss and at other things in my life (yet another freaking operation coming up).

Let us forget the part in my post about the offense, it was needless (A reminder that there are no take-backs on the internet), and instead let me just say I haven’t been contributing and think that I want to find a way to motivate me. I will come back when I feel like I am doing a good job working towards my goals.

Well, I can’t make you stay if you don’t want to. Just know that I think you contribute a lot to these threads. I do hope that you will keep us updated every now and then even if you don’t plan to post regularly. Sorry to hear you have another operation coming up (hey, I’m whiny today, too, and for much sillier reasons). If nothing else, please pop in and let us know how that goes.
