Ooh, to be in the 160s. What bliss it would be indeed.
I weight myself this morning at 178, so things aren’t quite as bad as I’d imagined. They’re not good, though.

I have my weigh in again tomorrow, and I just know I’m going to have gained. Mainly because I had chocolate cake at my niece’s birthday party on Saturday.
Yup, I gained…0.2 pounds. Glad it wasn’t more.
0.2 isn’t particularly significant, i’d personally count that as no change.
I weighed myself again this morning, it says i’ve lost 4lb already, which seems a bit much. I suppose it’s just that I have so much to lose that it goes quickly. Not that I’m complaining.
I weighed 169 this morning! I hope it’s not just a fluke.
SparkPeople’s pre-programmed nutrition information is wonky. It is consistently listing foods as having more calories than their own packaging lists. Guess I’m entering everything by hand from now on.
Well, I thought I was off to a good start except for exercising but I’ve actually been too busy to exercise. Tuesday we were pretty busy at work and then I had an asthma attack thanks to forgetting to take my Singulair the night before and my co-worker who chain smokes 3 cigs at a time and reeks of cigarettes, which are one of my triggers. Wednesday we were doing a lot of cleaning at work, I helped carry a large dog and we were pretty busy so I was on my feet a lot. So Thursday I woke up to a fibro flare, every muscle and most of the joints in my body hurt and I still hurt today. So I still won’t be getting much exercise in the near future. The problem with flares is I also get lazy about eating. I was actually feeling a little stoked before this because I had weighed myself on Wednesday and I had lost about a pound and a half.
I was going to report one, but as long as it’s within 25 calories and a certain amount of fat, they don’t want to know about it.
I’ve found only one that was off, and it was within their margin of error…most of them are pretty spot on.
I did make one of the recipes…Slow Cook Chicken Taco Stew. It’s very good, low in calories, and I can add a bit of sour cream and still have dessert without blowing my calories!
Weigh-in yesterday…another three pounds gone! I haven’t been this weight in years! Ivylad has noticed my jeans are looser!
Go me!
So, is there actually a SDMB team on Sparkpeople yet, or do I have to search everyone out from this thread?
Susan
We don’t have a team yet, but my username is the same there as it is here…and I’ve got all the Dopers as friends, so you should be good.
206½ pounds, 3½ pounds down from last week, 37 this year, 81½ since starting in September. That’s 14 stone 10½ UK style, and I haven’t been 14 stone anything since I was eighteen as far as I remember. Now if you’ll excuse me…
blows own trumpet
And after the last few weeks of losing only a pound at a time, that came as quite a surprise.
Argh! I’m scared to weigh myself this week. Seems almost like everybody has lost weight though, great work!!!
I don’t know what bizarro planet I’ve landed on, but suddenly I’m losing weight pretty quickly. I think I’m finally into the 160s, having weighed 169 on Friday, 168 on Saturday, and 167 yesterday and today. My average is still about 170 according to physicsdiet.com, so I’m not jumping up and down yet. I think the weight lifting is really helping everything along. I’m not plateauing for a month after every pound like I used to.
205 pounds, 1½ pounds down from last week, 38½ this year. Took a while to get below 210 but I seem to be fairly well set now, and considering it was our wedding anniversary the week just gone and we went out for a biggish meal on Wednesday, I’m not too discontent. Would like a couple more pounds this month although it looks like I’m spreading my birthday celebrations over the next two weekends so I’ll have to watch myself. Even so, still adjusting to the notion of being under 15 stone.
This last week has been weight-neutral at 96-ish kg.
Mostly it was caused by having a tooth pulled out on tuesday, so I skipped the gym and survived on painkillers and high-calorie soft food. Wednesday was my sons 16th birthday, and he wanted Fish Chowder for dinner - pure carbs (potatos, leeks and onion with cheese sauce flavoured with curry and smoked haddock), but very tasty. Oh, and Decadent Chocolate birthday cake which is 27% pure dark chocolate by weight. I was back at the gym, though, but the unseasonal heat has me drinking too much fluid, I was retaining water and the painkillers were bunging me up. Friday was birthday dinner at the pub - steak and salad, but I did have some chips and a piece of garlic bread (my wife made it, I could not say no).
Come the weekend, I was back on the wagon, so it was a pleasant surprise this morning to see that I had not actually gained any weight over the week, and had maybe trimmed up a bit - I’ll take that as a win.
Si
It’s going to take a few days to get myself straightened out after the weekend. I had a few drinks Saturday night, so yesterday I was a bit hung over and all I wanted was salt, salt, salt! As a result, I’m really puffy and up three pounds today. So today it’s water, water, water!
I am now on SparkPeople, with a page set up as Lorene08.
I’ve taken some time off from these monthly threads, and haven’t gained or lost at all, but now want to get back to losing. The best thing for me right now is that it’s light enough at 5am to go running, so I can get some miles in before work. I did 6 this morning, and I felt great.
OK, I pirated ivylass’ SparkPage for as many of you as I recognized.
Welcome aboard, lorene! I hope you find it as helpful as I do!
