SDMB Wine Club: Week 24

I was sure I’d be able to find at least one, but nope. Checked my 4 regular wine shops and even one I don’t usually shop at. No luck at all. No biggie, I’ve got some catching up to do anyway.

I picked up 2 bottles of the Justin Cabernet this afternoon, which were the last two they had in stock. Manager of this Spec’s told me that he wasn’t going to be able to get any more as he had been informed that Justins has elected to only make their wine available to restaurants in the future. If your local supplier carries Justins you might want to take a look at what they have in stock, or at least inquire about their ability to acquire more of this Cab.

Hope to try one of the bottles tonight.

That’s too much. I can usually get it for around $45. But yeah, any wine at that price had better be good! I bought a small bottle of their Obtuse (Port) and had it after dinner on Sunday. Very nice. Not as good as the Charles Krug Port (and not as expensive, either), but very nice.

Justin Cabernet - Very nice. I don’t have a lot of experience with Cabernets. The ones I have tried seems I’ve either really enjoyed, or was merely OK. The Justin - I really enjoy. I tried it freshly opened to compare with after I had allowed it to breathe a little. Not a huge difference, but the time did seem to mellow it slightly.

I hope I will be able to find this again in the future.

It looks like the NH State Liquor stores still have the Paso Robles Cab and the Isosceles at this time, for our NE wine club members.

Sorry Great Dave; the other suggestions looked great, but the availability seems to be a bit of a problem.

Are we ready for our next sommelier? As I recall, Helen’s Eidolon asked for a sabbatical. Is she ready now, or should we wait until after the new year?
