Hello, let me start out by saying that this is a good message board with many intelligent people. There are many people out there that look at hings from differing viewpoints many people have good ideas yet they are afraid to say them because they either think that someone else has already addressed it or it they have no place or one to tell it to. Well I was in a thoughtful mood today and i was thinking. This is a board with currently 35,985 users. Now thats alot of people and every person probally has good ideas and has more knowledge about a certain area. So if somene brings forth an idea someone from that perspective area might know if its feasible or not. and for this question i hope that you all will forget about the word feasible. anything is possible. ok that out of the way. People of the Straight Dope Message Boards lets cure cancer. There are many forms of cancer so I say we start on lung cancer, as there is someone i know who is afflicted by this. We are 35,985 able minds and i believe we can do this.

So we know that cancer is: Like all cells of the body, the cells in the lungs divide and reproduce at a controlled rate to repair worn-out or injured tissues and allow for normal growth. Lung cancer develops when cells inside the lungs multiply at an uncontrollable rate. These abnormal tissue masses are called tumors. Tumors are either non-cancerous (benign) or cancerous (malignant).
ok so lets start with what we have for treatments so far.

But lets throw all that aside and concentrate on the problem. I once heard that the best ideas come from people who dont think about what they are dealing with as they have no limits and often make the best solution. Lets get some other ideas out there and we can catalouge them and people who might be familiar in certain areas that the ideas surround can give their input and have discussion on them. Once we have ideas out there we can look at them more thouroughly and refine them to give us the best product. Then we will work on them individually and seeing what needs to be combined with what and what works with what. I know we can do this because i have faith in the power of intelligent minds all focusing on an issue. Thank you and lets hear some ideas.
