I don’t post much, though I search a good bit through these forums.A while back I posted a harmless thread about a Chinese billionaire slated for execution. I wanted to have an “intellectual” discussion about, well… YOU find the thread.
I started the thread several months ago. All the doper’s posts came within a week or two. I then found a useful peaceful piece of information about said thread, so I posted it. I posted it several months after the last post to my thread.
10 minutes after I posted a harmless supplement to my “OP”, my thread was locked. The excuse given for the thread lock was LAAAAAAAAME. Beyond lame: Nazi like. Who the fuck do you think you are? You didn’t even give anybody time to respond to my fledgling update.
Ban me if I’m in the wrong, I couldn’t give less of a shit (just don’t charge my credit card for another year of this tripe.)
Another thing, your sit is SLOW as hell. That’s why I double post all the time. I’m a member of another forum that has over 200,000 members And there is NO charge). This other site even let’s you edit posts. It also has NO down time when searching/editing/posting posts.
My billionaire post (as EVERY post is on this site [in my experience]) was extremely slow to react. It went to “URl timed out, please try again” or something similar over ten times before accepting my post.
You know good and well that the StraightDope message board is in lack of proper bandwidth (especially considering that over 61,000 people pay $15 dollars/year, how much is that?..BULLSHIT!) And Moderators, are you even getting paid for being an asshole? If not … that’s pretty sad.

We had this issue at a board that I moderate … damned kids, digging up the zombies. Leave’em be, stupid kids, but noooooooo, the wee bastards wanna dig up a three-year old, 500 page thread, so they can add their stupid, idiotic, appendix of a post to it.
But to clarify: the moderators sit at the right hand of Cecil, theirs is the transcendent clarity, their integrity exceeded only by intellects vast, cool and asymmetric. The occupy a place roughly equivalent to the Serafim or Bhoddisatva. While it is true they are not always right, they are never wrong, and it is our privilege to bask in their incandescence.
